Thanks for the compliment part of your comment. As for the cost, machined stainless steel hardware is not especially cheap to produce.

I know it's not cheap. But take for example http://gothicpunkspecialtyhardware.c...y_Jewelry.html. We used to sell stuff similar to that (size and same material, different shapes) piercing at our studio for about half that price... And usually stuff is more expensive at a piercing gallery.

But yea, cool stuff man, definitely.

What about in nickle or some other cheapo metal that is a bit softer and would be less weighted?

Depending on what you're doing, softer metals scratch, dent, bend etc. Steel's where it's at

Also, why the fuck do all these expensive as shit websites advertise that they cater to "crust punk". No you fucking don't! Crusties are poor as fuck, and wouldn't pay $20 plus shipping for ten fuckin spikes. You wanna be a spikey crustie? Use nails.

As far as the metal, I agree that steel is a lot tougher than using a softer metal like aluminum for the spikes. We do have hardware made from brass and aluminum as well as steel though.
As far as the price, there is definitely that issue that a lot of the people that would use this stuff might not have a lot of money to buy it. We try to keep costs as low as possible, and they will probably go down as we grow in volume.
