Very noble resolutions, Sanctus.
Insanity: I don't know if you are talking about a different ASVAB test, but the one all my friends took was a "career exploration" bullshit thing... why would taking that affect getting into the Air Force? (Also, good luck! I used to want to join the force... then remember I'm terrified of flying.)

I bought an ipod nano so that I can exercise without waking up my boyfriend, and I am going on a wheat and dairy free diet. I have promised myself that if I get down to that weight that I will by myself some new clothes.

When I quit smoking it always helped me to have somthing to do with my hands, like crochet, or sewing, puzzles, anything to keep me busy...the hardest part was feeling like something was missing or forgotten..."shouldn't I be doing somthing??? oh yeah, smoking!"
It's really hard if you ever drink. Wine makes me still crave...haven't been a smoker for about a year.
Okay...my resolution is to finish my catalog, and my dolls, throw out my old clothes and buy new ones, get a hair cut, and loose weight and figure out photoshop cs...but not in that particular order. Actually, I can think of a million things I'd like to change.

if you score high on the ASVAB test, then you basically get first choice of the job you want. plus you go in as an E-3 instead of an E-1, which means a higher pay.(and that's with housing, medical, dental and a bunch of other shit already paid. so that money is, what i'd like to call, party money)
i'm also afraid of heights and flying, but, to me, that's part of the fun.

By the way, it doesn't matter what you score. You'll get a crappy job that you'll come to hate anyways.
And your score has nothing to do with being an E3. If you sign up for 6 years instead of 4 you get E3.
I 'support the troops' and all, but I happen to know through family how the military works...have fun.

I enlisted and aced the ASVAB and was being geared for OTC/S. Sadly, I had an issue on the physical. Happily- if they didn't find it, I would never have been diagnosed and medicated (in a good way). But I still can't enlist because of it. (Personal thing, Won't go into details)

I enlisted in the USAF in 2001. Washed out of BMT, due to problems arising from bones I'd broken in '95. Which kinda sucks, but it was a learning experience nonetheless. I'll tell you right now though, everyone, that if you join the Air Force then prepare for the mind-fuck of your life. The other branches of the military focus more on the body, but the AF will work your mind more.

To prepare myself for paramedic school, apply myself, and be the best life-saving tool that I can be!
Man, I gotta quit smoking, too...it's just so damn hard in this business...
BEST OF LUCK TO YOU ALL ON YOURS...
Yes, even you, Santarea...(the key is to learn to use tools with your teeth)

My resolution is to get along with my brother.
I am moving in with him because I can't work and I have regular visits to the hospital so I cannot really live by myself.
The problem is we do not get along. He is an asshole and and a homophobic fag. But, he is my brother and I love him. Also, right now he is my only option.
So, to South Dakota I go. I will probably be moving next week. Please God let this work.
My other resolutions are to quit smoking and drinking (they have a huge negitive impact on your immune system, I guess). And to get back on my medicine, for good.
By the way, my brother used to post on this site. His screen name was nonfatsuperjesus. He introduced me to Gnet. Just an FYI for you older Gnetters so you know what I will have to deal with.
Ok, now I really am going to sleep.

hmm... new year? ...already? argh, time is going way too fast >_<
oh well, better have some wishes to what I'm gonna do next year:
1. Stop Smoking Weed - Only a week ago I was nearly caught in my room, me and my bf and my best friend had been smoking in my room at the boarding school when two teachers came in asking why it smelled so much like hash. We could easily say we hadn't been smoking hash. it was pot but I was called up to the principal next day and nearly thrown out. Lucky me, they didn't make me take a test... Also my short-term memory is getting really bad.
2. Quit Smoking Cigs - this is because I can feel my fitness is getting really bad, I get sick easily and... yeah, it's pretty expensive for me, as I don't really have a lot of money to live for.
3. Stop drinking too much - I must say I've gotten some way with this, because my boyfriend won't really tollerate my drinking habits, but I can still feel I drink too much, and when I'm not drinking, I'm just walking around thinking "beer, beer, beer" :S so yeah, that's gotta be done
4. Quit whining - nuff said
5. Start doing homework - and not just the things I find interesting, everything. It's gonna be hard, but it's gotta be done, if not I'll be thrown out.
6. Decide whether or not to get professional help - this is because I've just found out that there is a pretty much inherital manic depressiv sickness in our family, and it would explain some of the things I sometimes get (stress, anger, crying/screaming-fits, shit like that). I just don't know if I feel like talking to a psychyatrist yet.
7. Lose weight - this one has just gotta be done, and I've just gotta get myself together and do it. it's not harder than that, I know I can do it.
8. Get a job - I don't think I'll get this one done, but it's always nice to dream.
9. Pay attention in class - yeah... well... I've just gotta try
10. Stop fighting with boyfriend about politics - this is about the only thing we row about. Politics. I'm communist and he's nazi :/
okay, those were my new years resolutions... You asked for them, you got em this much cus I'm bored right now. feel free to comment

Aside from the usual weight loss thing?
Learn XML, XPath, XSLT and various other XML-related things.
Learn Perl.
Start learning C again.
Rebuild Destructo-1, my old computer. Install Linux on it.
Keep up with the cartoons, writing, etc, etc, etc.
If I can't find a job, at least be grossly overqualified.
