Just eat properly and do a regular workout. Peter Murphy is really muscular. He doesn't look strung out at all. Just look at his arms.

Become a vegetarian, you'll loose lots of weight, if that's what you want. Don't become anorectic. I'd say be yourself, but since you obviously want to be Pete I'll just save that piece of advice for someone else.

Try makeup. Dark blush in the cheekbone shadows may make you look gaunt.

Well, some people just don't have high cheekbones, no matter how thin they become.

Make-up. Play with blush and pale stuffs. A plum color along the cheek bones perhaps? And a bit of grey for shadow?

Or some cover-up or foundation that's just a couple shades darker than your skin-tone. That way, the effect is noticable, but it's not so noticable as being make-up. For a more natural look, that is.

Like me... I've decided that if I were to ever get any form of plastic surgery (which I won't, you know, but it's interesting to think about), I would get cheekbones. I've always wanted cheekbones... I figure they'd make me look my age, instead of looking 14.

Just thought you should know.

But yeah, try playing around with make-up.

Don't starve yourself. Being really thin doesn't have much to do with having high cheekbones. I'm 120 lbs (6'1) and I still don't have very high-cheek bones. It's all genetics. Just experiment with make-up.

Really? I'm not sure I could do it though, I love meat. So much it's sick sometimes.

That's not true. I'm veggie & I'm as big as a house.
If anything for losing weight it should be vegan.

Just exercise plenty and eat healthily. That's why veggies are usually skinnier than carnivores; they don't eat the fat that meat has in it, and quite often they're health conscious enough to steer well clear of chocolate bars, crisps, etc. You should make sure you're not stuffing yourself at every mealtime too; just eat enough to satisfy your hunger, not enough to bloat you.

Perhaps you have chosen the wrong subculture to inhabit. It would be better if you tried to be who you are rather than look like someone you are not.
Beyond that, the most important thing is to be healthy, regardless of what weight or appearance that gives you. Life is precious as death is inevitable, Sparky.

You used your first post to tell someone that they shouldn't be into the goth scene because of their looks? As if the goth culture revolved around your facial structure...

No, you misunderstood; I am saying exactly the opposite. The goth scene is not about trying to look skinny or attaining high cheekbones... that's pretty damn shallow if you ask me. You should be who you are and not try to look like a stereotypical image. What I am saying is that if that kind of shallowness is what you're in this for, then perhaps you picked the wrong subculture.
And while that was technically my first post, I'm actually not at all new to gothic.net by any stretch. And it's been a very long time since I could be called a 'babygoth', despite what the text by my avatar says.

Holy shit! You're a twig! I'm 6'1", and even at 170 I look skinny. (Unfortunately, I got fat, so I'm 230 now... I need to lose weight. DAMN BEER!!)

Well, I was speaking from my own experience; when I went vegetarian I lost 15 kg in two months. (And yes, that was scary as heck since I wasn't prepared for that much...) To make the record straight, I gained another 5- 7 kg again when my body had adjusted to the new diet.

If, after all the good advice that's been offered up, you still want to do this cheekbone thing... go look at pictures of Uninvited Guest's makeup. That will tell you all.
