Well...they were into drugs big time. But the only negative aspect that I know about them is that Charles Manson lived by they're music and said that the beatles influenced him on most of his decisions apparently. But as for them being satanists? I know people like your friend. Aka my own mother lol...but they learn how to deal with it...If they expect you to respect they're outlooks then I think they need to realize to do the same...its not like you're telling her to dress like you.

But isn't there some ant-war stuff in there too? I should probably just look up some lyrics and find out for myself...
Luckily for me my mom is less of a "Stop wearing so much black" type and more of a "May I have my Anne Rice book back, please?" type.
Gah, we're getting off topic, haha.

What else did I learn today? Uhm...I learned that I have a lot more makeup than I need. (While organizing it all.)

Ah, that, yeah that could make her assume they were satanic.

What do you expect, you're playing some shows in Hamburg. You get good reactions... from hookers and shit, a year or two later you go to the studio record a few songs or something for your first amercan tour, and BAM! You're the next big thing, as big as Elvis was in his heyday. They were also... well... early 20's? Bound to make you a bit cocky, even if you're generally not a cocky person.

Today I realized that you shouldn't plan and worry your life away, because it's already short enough as it is.

I learned how they get the syrupy goodness in a McGriddle so now I can make my own at home for a delicious breakfast.

I lost my grandmother on Sunday. (The funeral was yesterday). That means I now have no grandparents left, only one parent and she's not doing well. Because of all the losses, I re-learned a new (old) adage today. My great-granny always used to say, "If you learn something new every day, you'll live to be 100." Today, I learned that when your family all starts dying off on you, it's time to start a new one.

I like dogs, and my dog proves every day that he is man's best friend. But I baby-sat a friend's dog for a few days and I learned that it's no damn good for a dog to be too attention-needy.

I learnt today that there's only so many people that I can pass on the sidewalk without doing something insane like pretending they stabbed me in the ear for no reason. (Had ketchup on hand. It works well so periods no longer than 1 minute when trying to fake someone out.)

I learned today that trying to start a club called the Atheist's club in a fundamentalist christian community's public school is harder than it looks, even with the first amendment.

Brutal. Try for something easier. Like the abolishment of currency. There's a cause that I could throw money at.

We started a young socialists club when I was a senior in highschool, and so many of the kids were desperately hiding the fact that they were members from their parents or wouldn't tell them at all that all of the underclassmen were intimidated out of being involved by the time my class graduated.

So, more power to you, and try to get any support you can from teachers, parents, students- anyone who will keep discussion for your highschool open.

Yay almond milk! I had an almond smoothy once and it was surprisingly good.

Anyway, today I realized how much of my attitude comes from my dad. We ate lunch today and talked, and I feel like we really are starting to have a good relationship again. After I got in my car accident and before that when he had to pick me up from the hospital because I had been sold some bad drugs, I could tell he had a lot less respect for me, which troubled me really badly because my dad isn't impressed by much, but we had always gotten along pretty well because of our cinicism and interest in similar things like history and current events.

I have a lot of respect for my dad. After being drafted into Vietnam, and after teaching English in Turkey with the Peace Corps, he could have gotten a job in the NSA or the CIA because of his extensive knowledge and love of languages, but he decided not to because just filling out the applications entailed ratting out friends and family for stupid things. Instead he's been a union electrician for 26 years, and he still learns languages in his free time.

Today I learned that my dad taught me integrity by example, and I'm really grateful.

Reading up on imaginary human things is always scary. Just wait until you read the bible.
