This is dumb. I actually resemble everything that VIVI claims a traditional goth to be, besides that I listen to more music than goth rock, and I'm still heavily against it.

Ditto. Nobody should feel superior to anyone based on their personal style. That´s narcissistic and pointless.

Remember kids: nothing says a bigger FUCK YOU to the mainstream than a studded leather jacket!
Take that society!

Is being against society goth? I thought goth revolved around a music genre and the image it projects and the fact that a faction of society is repulsed by it is just a symptom of goth. Yeah. I think I pretty much nailed it.

I hate it when people use a subculture to rebel or look cool. For christ's sake, have some fun. Lighten up. Goth isn't saying "fuck you" to society, its saying "id rather do it my way".

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't most goths-trad, cyber or whatever else-just assume "industrial" means "that one dark, bleepy electronic track they sometimes play in the club"?
I'm not saying industrial fans are any more clued up as to what gothic music is, but the idea that industrial music can be represented by a bunch of imbeciles waving glowsticks to a Covenant song is just plain ignorant.
[/butthurt about lack of industrial clubs]

Nah. My best friend loves industrial so i hear it a lot. And he dresses in a way i think they call "Indie". It cant be denied that its slowly seeping into the scene. Ive been worried that it will take over and people will forget the old-school music. Perhaps this will be the case in future generations.

Occasionally. Sometimes it's just "Boopity boopity snare boopity boopity snare" with the gayest lead synth ever and a sample from a crap movie.

No, you'd rather do it Bauhaus' way. You're still a follower, you're just following unpopular bands. Goth is part of society, not an alternative thereto.

I think people have the wrong impression about traditional goths. They listen to newer music sometimes. Knowing the history of Goth is interesting. Some people know more than others. It is more the regular type of interaction between the older and younger people. They older people are always saying, "Let me tell you something about when I was growing up." The younger people are always saying, "Bag it dust bag. I have my own life to live."
There is always a sprinkling of using the group to sell their own agendas. Old people play the old card a lot.

I once bought a a tripp trench there, when I was in my "I so goffic and depressed, and vampires be so goff" phase. I regret ever going to Hot Topic, other than a few cool shirts, it's a waste of time.

It's an accessory store, and I see nothing wrong with using it as such.
Of course, I'm not much for accessories.
