I'm really tired of seeing this. Every freaking post here about something non-goth has to have some kind of qualifying tag stuck onto it. Really, is it necessary to justify everything non-goth by mentioning possible flamage? I think I speak for most everyone when I say that non-goth does not equal bad or worthy of flamage, unless it has the goth label stuck onto it when it shouldn't be there.
Honestly, if you want to talk about something that isn't goth, just fucking do it. It isn't like simply mentioning something non-goth means you're calling it goth.

People around here are using this phrase more and more often because there are a few individuals who flame others for no apparent reason, because it suits their mood or because they have no other way of stating contradictory opinions. So it's no wonder many are tempted to apologise before they say anything, from fear of "offending" these over-sensitive creatures.

Maybe that's true, but in my mind it's much more respectable to have the courage of your convictions (read: Just say what you want to say without apologies.) than to snivel with every post.

I think you're misunderstanding me. I'm not sticking up for people who flame for no reason, not in the least. I'm saying that there shouldn't be any need for the "but," that we should just talk about what we want to talk about and not feed the flame with "Please don't flame me."

Don't flame me, but I agree.
Re. unnecessary flamage, I always feel a little sorry for people who get jumped on after their intro with someone saying "it's ok to like Manson, but if you say he's goth then you're a fucking fool...... a FOOL I say!", when they never actually SAID they think he's goth. If someone jumped over my music like that when I never said shit about thinking it was goth, I'd pretty much think "oh goth off you twat". Unless someone says something really fucking stupid in their first post, I say leave 'em alone - if they're really ignorant then sooner or later they'll hang themselves if you give them enough rope.
