Busted boots. :[
The platforms on one of my pairs of Demonia boots are ripping off of the boots from the back. I know that this is probably hopeless and I'm going to need to buy a new pair, but does anybody know of a way to fix them? I've tried shoe goo, gorilla glue and sewing them back on with dental floss. I use floss with a lot of my sewing projects because it usually doesn't break unless it's cut, but it's actually fraying and falling apart. Any help?

Hmm, Shoe Goo should have done the trick...Maybe a "Work While You Wait" shoe repair shop?

Fishing line, liquid nail, or epoxy?

I would check out a shoe repair shop, I'm sure there is one somewhere near you and they are rather inexpensive.

Shoe goo the fuckers, then sew them together with fishing wire. That should work...

... or invest in a pair of doc martins, which will never pull that kind of shinanigans. But, like the others said, you should be able to give them to a cobbler and they'll be able to take care of it cheap.

Also, industrial strength epoxy should work, given enough time to cure.

Demonias are shit, and you should not buy them for this reason.

I'd use JB weld epoxy, but that's more for fixing steel bars and other car stuff.

Are Demonias notorious for falling apart like this? I remember hearing a few complaints about the poor quality of their boots.

It really depends on how hard you are on the boots. I have a few friends that have ahd theirs for over 4 years and are still ok.

I've never been impressed by Demonias, least of all with the crappy zips they insist on having on all their boots.
Pennangalan have a better selection than Demonia AND they last forever (and no zips, so with knee high lace ups with buckles you get to learn the art of patience). You do have to pay, though.

Yeah, I bought a pair of Demonia's a few months back and the leather is already peeling. I figured they would be less than perfect, but they are really crappy.

Ugh. Yeah, fuck the zippers.
I knew from the beginning that Demonias weren't the best choice, but considering my budget, they seemed acceptable. I've had them for over three years now, and I used to wear them pretty frequently, so I think they've had a decent life considering the poor quality. I'm just not ready to give these babies up yet.
The nearest shoe repair shop is probably over 40 miles away, so I think I'll try the epoxy and/or fixing line. If that doesn't work, well then, fuck it. Thanks for the tips. :]

Fishing line*
Speaking of, I tried it, and it didn't seem to work. It just snapped. Epoxy time!

Hmm, I've read that the only way to make Demonias last is if you wear them as sparingly as possible.

The hardware sucks on Demonia.

I guess they up their game for Pleasers as they are made by the same company (and cost about the same) and mine have been worn pretty hard for the past two and a half years with no problems at all.

I have Demonias that are also coming apart at the platform, near the heel :P It's not too noticeable though, I've had them for like 3-4 years and worn them a lot. I'm not surprised they look very worn, but I'll be sad when I have to chuck them...And I'll need to spend money on a different pair....

I had my Demonias for about three years before I wore through the heels. Fine, they made an obnoxious clopping noise - I could deal with that. Then a zipper pull tab broke the next year, and I rigged it with some thick string. But then the inner soles began curling up, and I just gave up.
However, I got them at half-price and five years of hard wear isn't horrible, given D's reputation. I still might take them to a cobbler, even though I bought replacement (non-Demonia) boots a year ago. I don't know why I'm so attached to that cheap pair of boots.

When my boots broke in that way, I just used a hammer and nails. They haven't broken again since.

Must be why they're surprisingly easy to run (away) in...not that I've ever had to do that. Of course not.
But I like knowing I have the option : )
