We haven't picked out the exact menu yet but we do know that I will be able to pick out eight hors d'oeuvres (four light ones that will be served all evening and four heavier ones that will be served from 7 to 9). Hopefully we will be going for a tasting on the 8th and will make a final selection shortly after.

What we do know for sure is that the cake will be alternating tiers of chocolate and vanilla with a caramel ganache filling and vanilla buttercream frosting.

Also we will be doing three cocktails, I know one will be a cosmo but I'm debating on the other two, along with beer, wine from the vineyard where we will be having the ceremony, and basic non-alcoholic options.

I was really starting to get worried that spreading things over two days with essentially two all evening venue rentals was going to make me go over budget but it seems like all is going to be good. The photographer is a friend so she is charging me half of her normal rate, the first venue is treating us as a small party so I don't have to pay a venue rental fee (just $500 for a time extension) Jake's parents are going to pay for the food that night and the place provides music for dinner so I don't need a DJ or anything, the second venue is owned by my mom's friend so she is knocking a lot off of the price, and the caterer has done a few events with the foundation that my mother directs (which I fully used as a bargaining chip). All in all at the very worst I'll be right on budget but it looks like I'll come in under (which means we get some cash from mummy dearest as a wedding present woot!).

That's awesome, you're shaving a shitload of money off the tab that way. And the cake sounds fabulous.

One of the hispanic guys in housekeeping just essentially told me his life story but as I don't speak much Spanish and he only kind of speaks English I only understood half of it. He just seemed so happy that we were getting along and was trying so hard to find the right words, I didn't want to spoil it by telling him I had still no clue what he was saying.

A woman just went in to the pool area and I noticed that her bikini top was only half hooked in the back, I would tell her but experience tells me that she would just get mad at me so we’ll just see what happens.

Tomorrow is the International Day Against Homophobia and our local Planned Parenthood is hosting a breakfast with all LGBT and LGBT ally groups, so me and another girl from the **** crisis center are going there to set up the booth. I however wasn't thinking when I picked up the booth that I would have to walk to the hotel since its so early in the morning >.> half an hour walk, in a little bit of rain. The booth isn't heavy, though, it should be fine...still, I'm excited!

Hey, Cosmicgaunt you just reminded me of a question I had for people from the UK...my buddy said that in the UK most desserts are referred to as "pudding." What we call "pudding" here, you call "custard."

Is this true, or is he misinformed? Also, is cake called pudding too, or is it just cake?

Well, it's not always yellow. It can be lots of flavors/colours. Or are custard and pudding two different things?

...what's custard?

I don't know, but I love frozen custard (which is a completely different thing, I think.)

Well, custard where I am is generally bright yellow and made with milk, egg yolk , vanilla flavouring and sugar.Or for those in the know (or the lazy), Birds custard powder. It's thick, gloopy and it tastes mostly of vanilla.

That's just what I know it as being though.

Yes it's true. any dessert/cake is usually called Pudding by a great deal of people. Since most have it after a main meal, you'd say " so what's for pudding then? "

Then what do you call what we call pudding? It isn't really custard, we have separate custard. Or does pudding mean both dessert as well as a specific type of dessert?

Lol you see my confusion?

I also have a question for anyone who DJs/does club stuff. I'm playing this facebook game called Nightclub City, and when you "BassDrop" people buy more drinks. Is there any basis for reality there, or is it just a fun game thing?

Since I have no idea what the thing you lot call pudding looks like, and consists of I couldn't say. Is it some sort of semi solid blamanche type thing?

Pudding does mean dessert in general, but also the word is used to describe certain types of desserts like your typical traditional Christmas pudding , or Suet pudding .

My brother used to get a bowl of warm custard and a straw and then inhale the custard through his nose.

Ever since I haven't been able to go near the stuff.

Well hm...

Our pudding is like custard but set a bit with starch. It kind of has a texture somewhere between custard and mousse and can come in just about any flavor.
