True Blood

Don't actually know what to say about this show.
There are posters all over the town with True Blood.
I read the books that this show is based on and they were pretty entertaining.
I did see the first episode yesterday and it was...acceptable?
What do you guys think?

DISAGREE.
If they did that, they'd have to pull the plug on True Blood.

^agree.

Lady gaga video. he makes an appearance at the end of it as well.

SinJ -1/2 agree. The only reason to watch the TV show is for the perv fest, but the Maenad sex fest thing went on way too long.

The books are much more interesting than the TV series.

I absolutly LOVE True Blood. I have seen every episode.
I will soon be buying the books as well. I can't wait to read them. I wanted to wait till the show was over to read the books because I don't want the show to be ruined for me.

The books are pretty terrible, admittedly I only got through most of the first one but it was pretty bad, and if it makes you feel better I hear the show is nothing like it past the first book.

Aww well that is disapointing. I will still buy the books just because I love the show so much.

I liked the books - but I guess it depends on what sort of books ur interested in.

Charlene has a different writing style.

Oh c'mon, I can save you the trouble of reading them!

"I woke up in the morning and I had a slice of toast, I washed my luxurious hair, had trouble in town because I am too damn hot, read a lot of explicit thoughts about me, Sam came by while I was sunbathing and I could tell he really wanted me, at night I went over to Bill's house and we screwed and screwed and screwed."

SHE NEEDS A HOBBY.

Can't get into this. It's too much about Sookie & Bill, and they suck. Most of the other characters suck too, but not quite as hard as the MAIN ONES who take up 80% OF THE DAMN SCREEN-TIME. I thought Tara showed some promise based on her first ever scene, but whaddayaknow - they had to go and make her your stereotypical whiny, damaged damsel in distress who deep down just needs to be saved. Somehow the fact that she gave me cause to hope makes me hate her most of all.

Best thing about the show is the opening credits, and that's not as flip as it sounds - they're awesome.

Is anyone else still watching this?

Still hating Tara's 'character development'?

I quit in 3, somewhere between the writers turning her into a victim of fetishistic proportions and some bullshit about fairies. Did something cool happen since then?

She has/had a hot semi looking Asian girlfriend down in "Nawlins". For record not one single person in northwest Louisiana pronounces New Orleans like that. More like "Noorlins" or "New-ollins".
