We don't have one because Gothic.net is not currently accepting Short Fiction submissions at this time.

Gnet does not publish Poetry, so the Poetry thread is in place.

But they do upon occasion publish short fiction, which is why we do not have a short fiction thread, or allow short fiction to be posted.

None of these are my rules, just theirs.

This reminds me, I need a new avatar for the upcoming 500 crescendo, and I'm wondering if I should go indus-goth or some other variety of the romanty guy. Alternatively, I've got that little raver dude I could put over there, that might get noxious after a while but be good for a laugh or two...

Ah, I look forward to my 666th post. I shall make it count.

I'm packing up today to go home for the summer (I leave Saturday), and that means long hours on the computer, because I won't be online very often out home, if at all. *cries* I don't wanna leave the city!

H.F. was just Holy Fuck without the olyuck.

In other news, I just lifted my coffee mug to drain the last dregs of the stuff, and there was this ring of coffee stain around the inside, and a fresher one further down... anyway as I drank the last of it I had this really weird vertigo effect for a few seconds, staring at these rings.

If you want to experience it yourself, it was kind of like looking at this but in black and white.

I get that same feeling looking inside old sippy cups I find between the couch cushions. Maybe you should wash you coffee cup, Id hate for you to get dizzy and crack your head on something, all from looking at coffee rings.

Escalators make me dizzy. It's those metal ridges... all moving together... It nearly always catches me out when I get to the end of one. I get so mesmerised just watching those ridges... And then they start strobing.

Aiiieee!

Mesmerising is watching any group of the top runners (female or male to watches preference... I prefer female) run... just watch their legs.

I hope I never forget - I was sitting in the auditorium in what must have been the sixth grade, and there was a tennis demonstration. We were lined up all around the court there (one of those auditoriums where there are sports lines drawn all over the floor in front of the stage, so it's truly multi-functional...) ... at any rate, as the tennis ball was lobbed back and forth my friend Eric pointed the other side of the room, and sure enough, all of my peers' heads were, zombie-like, following the ball back... and forth... back... and forth...

Haha!

Also, my new avatar tamagothi is looking back and forth, and nodding approvingly if he deems it acceptable to do so. Elder Goth and all... responsibility... gotta keep tabs on the newbs...

Well, they were trying to show how to play tennis to 11-year-olds, and the big thing was play nice!, so it was more like watching doped-up meercats.

We were more excited to try to get the free tennis balls they started throwing after that. It's funny, but each year it seemed there was a new sport sponsored by the school. Tennis was the 6th grade, and I think, oddly enough, hopscotch was introduced in the 4th or 5th. That's when the 'bad kid' contingent rebelled by introducing hackey-sacks. I was busy playing soccer...

I suddently notice that sports are like groups of pendulum people who sweat...
