Re: THIRTEEN
[quote="LOSTxINxMYxDREAMS"]I'm 13, but I'll be turning 14 on March 20th. . . but everyone thinks I'm older (I've been mistaken for a 17-18 year old MANY times . .especially by guys)
same, but for me it's normally women who think i look older.

well i am 18 turn 19 july 25th, always been though of as older unless i am being a kid in which case i am thought of as younger, i have been out of school since iw as 14 working full time so i never really had a chance to enjoy my teenage years, and i am always thought of as a baby since all my friends are 25-30 and i go after older women too, nothin like hella hott goth MILFs anyways yea so i am like "part of the majority" here even though i hate my own age group damn kids and their music...

Hrm. Seems that stating "but people say I look older than I am" is a sure-fire way to look young around here. *shrugs*
I'm 17, turning 18 in June, and for the most part, I figure that's what I look like. It's kinda funny... here in Canada most people guess older than I am, but in Germany most people guessed younger. I have yet to figure that out.

dgk goldberg once wrote something like, "I'm so old, I was giving Noah blowjobs on the Ark". (Sorry, couldn't find the exact quote, but that's pretty close). I love dgk goldberg.
I'm not THAT old, but after reading these posts, I feel like a damn senior citizen. I'm 40. I'll be 41 in June. I don't mind it at all. In fact, the last few years have been the happiest and most productive of my life. I wouldn't relive the pain and frustration of my teens and 20's for anything.
Also, I've lived through some interesting times. Just imagine, kids, an era when smoking was not only acceptable, it was encouraged! The drinking age was eighteen! Betamax was the height of new technology, and computer class was all about making pencil marks on paper cards. Weed was 35.00 for an ounce, and concert tickets cost 10.00... for good seats.
Grandma has to go take her pill and lie down for a little while now. -Gnossos

i'm 13 (14 June 15th) but it seems i look older than i am, people mistake mee for being around 16 to 18. strange, seeing as i'm quite short.

I'm a fossil for sure!
I'll be forty next month. I have been Gothing out since the mid eighties (with fluctuation between the Psychik TV/Einstreuzende Neubauten scene and the Dead Can Dance/"Pretty Vampire" scene, etc.) and I always have the diacotomy of feeling old and misunderstood and the feeling of having a great time and being young and "In" when I go Gothing. Especially since the two scenes that I frequent the most are in Honolulu and Raleigh. Both very different, but both very active and I would venture to say mostly cutting edge with a taste of old school - so I am eternally confused and happy.
Happy for a Goth kid that is...

Well, I guess I'm another senior citizen on the board...I'm 44, and wouldn't want to be 20 again for anything.
One thing that older Goths (or older people, for that matter) have going for them is self-confidence, and knowing what works for them.

I'm turning 17 the 27th of this month. Yay.
I tend to feel and act older though. Like what they say, "a PBS mind in an MTV world". Yep.
People presume me to be younger than I really am, perhaps because of my height and facial features.

Damn good thing I looked into this thread. I was starting to wonder if I was the World's Oldest Goth.
Maybe I'm the World's Oldest Goth who is a Newbie.
On the other hand...we should start a thread asking, were the Beats Gothic?
In which case we should be able to dig up some 60-80-year old Ancient Goths.
