I would have to say that it is as simple as a reaction to pain.

We haven't even bothered to properly define fear, let alone come up with anything close to a satisfactory answer (from a technical or philosophical standpoint), so why the hell are people clamoring for this discussion to end?

For those who do not have a life and are after meaningless conversation.
Once you read those books ,hopefully you could be on the top of your game and able to carry on with this fascinating subject.
good luck!

I have finished my articles related to fear. They explain my thoughts on the subject in great depth, though maybe needing more attention, I'm tired.

That's right, it is what I said in the other post but longer. Fear is a psychological respone people develop after suffering pain or harm.

I've heard we have fears because we've seen other people being afraid of something or because other people have told us what is bad and could harm us.

That is another reason also, but people will usually test the advice until harm comes to them. Then they have trust that people's observations are correct and develop fears associated to what they were told.

I actually think this is an interesting topic. There are many correct answers to this question, not just one. I'll go ahead and contribute a more metaphysical/spiritual one, as I believe that is what was asked for in the original post (though it wasn't directly stated that a philosophical answer was sought, so I'm only assuming this, and you totally deserve all the flames your post received if I'm right).

I perceive fear as dissonance, and a tangible force, not merely a psychosomatic reaction to sense data. The psychosomatic experience of fear is merely one manifestation of fear. A different way of looking at it is to say it is very much like entropy within a system. What I mean by 'dissonance' is basically chaos, in that sense.

Through trance meditation, in which you subdue the body and the mind entirely, one still experiences fear in its purest distillation, devoid of any human reaction or interpretation. This has led me to believe that fear is a very real universal 'force' that exists and influences matter and energy, and gives rise to numerous other forces widely discussed in many religious and spiritual practices.

This post epitomizes tl;dr to the point that tl;dr becomes a universal spiritual force separate to notions of laziness or disinterest; a cumulative mass of cosmic not giving a shit.

My appologies.

TL;DR version then.

I believe fear is a force that exists independent of psychosomatic reactions; it is a universal dissonance within systems of matter and energy very much like entropy or chaos.

I have to say, when I made that post, the whims of the universal dissonance made me feel fear that I might be subjected to a tedious diatribe about how I was spiritually dead or poorly attuned to the cosmos, but by the grace of the chaos emerald, it's just this totally ill-conceived attack on the impressiveness of my username, which is an ironic joke anyway. I don't even really get it-- are you implying that my name is very moronic, and thereby conceding that so are you?

Not caring is also fairly worthwhile. Just blank out and get through the process to prove fear is largely in the mind... in cases of public speaking not cliff diving. There are plenty of activities a good amount of fear and caution is a great thing to have.
