Good Metalcore

Normally, modern metalcore is crappy, generic pop metal (Bullet For My Valentine). Which sucks, because I would like to think hardcore + metal would be one of the most awesome crossover genres ever.

Well, than I found Unearth...

Anyone else know good metalcore bands? Other good ones I can mention are...

The Accused (with an umlaut over the u)
Stormtroopers of Death

Nah I still think so. That shitty, bastardized inbred son of 'hardcore' is the reason why we have the ironic trend of 14/15 year-old kids tyring to look badass moshing even though they're wearing neon colored tight pants, have straightened hair, and fresh acne on their awkwardly pierced faces.

Unearth is the only modern metalcore band I actually enjoy. Killswitch Engage and Bullet for My Valentine aren't even metal or hardcore in my book. They're just poppy hard rock bands playing generic, watered down extreme metal riffs.

Also: America has the shittiest mosh pits ever...

There's just this plague of scene kids and their extremo pop bullshit that needs to end. They all call it hardcore, which is just sad.

Oddly enough, I've never listened to this hybrid genre of music before. And as such will now youtube "metalcore" and play whatever comes up first..

Haha! I actually did that just now and the first video that came up was "My Top Ten Best Metalcore Bands (HD)," uploaded by a so-called RickyTomatoes.

Indeed, I just finished listening to that video in its entirety and didn't enjoy any of it. Although regular hardcore punk and older metal I can still appreciate separately.

Can't blame ya', even though I do enjoy some stuff by Norma Jean. I agree with that last statement.

Hmm, speaking of which. I wonder if there is any such thing as Glam-Metalcore? 80's Hair Metal being one of my preferred sub-genres; in which case I'd give this sort of music another listen.

I have no idea, there are countless -core subgenres, so there could be, who knows. Metalcore is considered by some the new Glam Metal, though.

Ok, I just found this Canadian band that are labeled as Glam Metalcore - they're called Blessed by a Broken Heart.

Ewwwwwww, they're Christian rock.

*listens*

So basically they're a modern day Stryper.

This thread is supposed to be good metalcore everyone.

Thanks for doing a search on my behalf, E87, unlike the others they actually do sound tolerable at the very least. Although google imaging them as well, have to say that their members look pretty cheesy/stupid. (would actually rather listen to Stryper)

Haha. Hey, PNecklace was looking for a Glamcore band, and I was just trying to help. Besides, according to my brief research, some say that band actually invented the genre. It may or may not be true.

People seem to have a love/hate relationship with that band, and some may say they're an acquired taste. Anything glam can end up being a bit cheesy, I guess; just look at Steel Panther, The New York Dolls, etc.

Here's more Glamcore for you, and you're welcome:

-The Mistakes
-Sebasrockets
-Pretty Suicide

Thanks for the further input E87, will go through them all once feeling a bit less overwhelmed. While as for love/hate music relationships, having this song stuck in my head once literally all night is *insert hyperbole exaggeration*.. (sorry guys, trying to get back on track) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWUu1...eature=related

Stryper's cool. Their lead singer is absolutely banging. And I think Steel Panther are intentionally cheesy.

There's no such thing as 'good' when talking about genres with 'core' in the description. I agree with Vyv.

Only bands which even slightly represent metalcore in this thread are in the OP. Try the 90s metalcore bands like Converge, Earth Crisis, Botch, Cave-In etc.
