The IT Crowd - an award winning British Sitcom
The IT Crowd - an award winning British Sitcom
I started talking about this series in the "What movie did you last watch?" thread, and after several other people replied there with video clips from the show I want to reply by posting another one. But I didn't want to threadjack that thread any further so I decided to start this thread instead.
It might be good for a few laughs and then fade from view in a week or two, but that's a pretty good use of a thread around here these days.
Here's a brief summary of the show from Wikipedia:
The IT Crowd is a BAFTA and Emmy award-winning British sitcom by Channel 4, written by Graham Linehan, produced by Ash Atalla and starring Richard Ayoade, Chris O'Dowd and Katherine Parkinson.
Set in the London offices of the fictional corporation Reynholm Industries, the show revolves around the three staff members of its I.T. (information technology) department - the two technicians named Moss (Ayoade) and Roy (O'Dowd), and their manager Jen (Parkinson).
The programme began on Channel 4 on 3 February 2006, the show has run for three series of 6 episodes each, while a fourth series started to air on 25 June 2010 and a fifth series has also been commissioned. The main gag is that Jen lucks into the job supervising Moss and Roy even though she doesn't know a thing about computers, and she keeps it by working as a buffer between the other employees and the two tech-savvy but socially challenged guys.

Here's a couple more.
This follows nicely after the emergency number bit:
Fire!
And this is just brilliant:
"This, Jen, is the internet."

Chris Morris is one of my heroes - I like IT Crowd, but I have to admit, virtually all his other projects pretty much piss all over it. Man's a freakin' genius.

Chris Morris isn't really involved with the IT Crowd on a creative level, but yeah, Brass Eye, Jam, The Day Today all > IT Crowd

True, dat. I hated IT Crowd when I first saw it, but it's grown on me.
The work outing one is hilarious.

Yeah, I'm the same, IT Crowd is growing on me. I still think Moss is a predictable character though, and I don't really like Jen either.

Well, women usually get a pretty raw deal in TV & film. I think Moss' predictability is part of his charm though.

Indeed, it is part of his charm.
I've been watching the I.T. for ages and I still find the episode about the internet being in a little box was brilliant.

I like the episode where they all get duped into going to see "Gay! The Gay Musical" and by the end of the episode Roy is in a wheelchair stuck playing out his earlier lie that he was disabled, and Moss ends up being put to work behind the bar.

Ah, I looked at the episode titles. That one IS "The Work Outing."

Jam is seriously one of the best things I've ever seen.
