Sometimes I'll eat an entire bag of baby carrots as if they were potato chips and get horrible stomach aches.

I would never be able to kill an animal and eat it.
I have to admit, I eat chicken, but I can definitely become a vegan if I want to, or in case I had to.

i'm sorry to say but it's not the same.
Vegetarians do not eat meat, fish or poultry, but might eat dairy products such as cheese, eggs, yoghurt or milk. Vegetarians are not as predictable in their beliefs, as there are many reasons to become vegetarian that don’t necessarily include altruism as a primary motive. For example, many vegetarians have eliminated meat for the sake of their health. In fact, there are a great many people lumped into the category of vegetarian. Lacto-vegetarians will eat dairy, but not eggs. Ovo-vegetarians will eat eggs, but not dairy. Lacto-ovo vegetarians will eat eggs and dairy products. The reasons for these choices are varied and based on individual beliefs. In some cases they are based on moral choices, and in others on dietary needs or simple preference.
A vegan, on the other hand, is self-committed to upholding a personal standard of living where animals are concerned. The vegan will often go beyond eliminating meat, dairy and animal products, to become an activist for animal rights. Generally, the vegan point of view is that animals are not here to be exploited by man, and that commercialization of animals necessarily involves a fundamental, inhumane component and lack of respect for basic life. Unfortunately, cruel methods are often cheaper methods, and animals raised for meat or dairy products by commercial interests are commonly and routinely kept in abusive conditions and slaughtered inhumanely in the interest of a competitive marketplace.

Black Bear Marinade
1 cup dry red wine (cheapest)
1/2 cup olive oil
1 onion chopped
6 cloves garlic crushed
1 sliced carrot
1 tbs.. dried tarragon, may want to half this as tarragon is strong salt and pepper adjust to your own taste
Place meat in roaster, roast or steaks, in marinade
and cover and refrigerate overnight turning often prior bedtime.
Remove from marinade approx., 2 hrs. prior cooking to allow meat to come to room temp. Strain marinade and reserve liquid for gravy.
Pre-Heat oven to 350 Deg. turning the roast and or steaks halfway through cooking time, about 3 hours. for 4 1/2 lb. roast.
GRAVY; with broth in pan bring to medium boil on stove top and add marinade liquid, to thicken I use 1/2 cup flour mixed with 1 1/2 cups of water seasoned with celery salt, shake or stir well and gradually pour into pan keeping stirring constant.
Carve roast (boneless) into 1/4 inch slices and place on platter pouring gravy over meat, will serve 8, I think.

I don't know if physically I could do it. The thought makes my stomach upset.
It's not so much killing an innocent animal, it's the blood and guts thing.

I just seen two skinless/headless ducks in my fridge playing poker(not really, but they were sitting in the bowl as if they just threw the cards away before I opened the door), gotta bury the bones and skin today sometime. Mmmmm never going to eat duck again for a while. The meat tasted too greasy. Cat Sookie didn't like it either. Threw up on the floor.
I wouldn't eat as much meat if I had to kill, clean and then cook it. Still would eat it, just not as much also known as being too lazy.
