Expensive stuff is nice and sounds great but it's not the be all and end all. I find it far more interesting to be creative and use stuff people might not expect. Makes it feel like what I'm making really isn't exactly the same as what everyone else is doing, ya know?

I know a bit about electronics but not much. I don't have much luck with electronic shit, I seem to blow things up quite often. I mostly just make shitty instruments out of stuff I find in the house.

I'm jazzed to learn that when Comicpalooza rolls around in late May here in Houston, among other things they will feature the Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator, a full six (6) person setup complete with projector view screen, for play during the convention. Artemis is best described as "Star Trek through the Rock Band filter."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72Xhd...layer_embedded

The game simulates a spaceship bridge by networking several computers together; one computer runs the simulation and the "main screen", while the others serve as workstations for the rest of the bridge crew: : Communications, Helm, Engineering, Science and Weapon Control. Players work together to overcome obstacles, with five players manning stations led by their Captain.

Wonder if I can get 6 people together to play? Hmmmm ...

Edit: I think I'm going to have to practice that falling out of your chair thing.

I am actually LOLing. Sounds like a hell of a good time!

Edit: I'm planning on buying this DIY Ukelele Kit as soon as they get them back in stock, but I don't know how it will sound accompanied by a rhythm section of thunder!

Way cheaper, and made from mahogany, so it'll last a long time and has better sound. Heard great things about grizzly, the guy that runs it is a total DIY guru.
WHOA! Thanks!

Hey, Duckman, would you think me a cretin if I still wanted to decorate/paint the face of this thing like I was planning with the other one, even though this is mahogany?

Oh and that baywatch canada poster - why does she have to be wearing the bikini?

Started the fence today. Got a new toy - a dropper rammer. 120cm of pure muscle power, it's just way too much fun.

Got a sledge hammer, new pruning saw and a cat door.. I promptly gave the cat door to the cats and told them that if they wanted access to the house, then they better learn how to put it in.

The cat turned around to Mr Bat, put on her slut routine (you know the one where they roll on their side, and make their belly look cute and fluffy so you just want to play with it) and he folded - way, way too quickly... which means I'll end up putting it in because Mr Bat can't get down to ground level that easily.

I'm sure I broke about a million cat labour laws today. I'm so going to cop it tomorrow.

SAYA!!!

Did you ever get that coconut opened? I found out today how you do it... bake it in the oven at 200C for 25 minutes, then hold it in your hand and hit it with a hammer, then put the flesh of the coconut under the cold water tap before it cooks.

Then you're going to burn in a very special level of hell. A level they reserve for child molesters, people who talk at the theater and people who ask cats to do something constructive.

(apologies to Joss Whedon, "Firefly" and Sheperd Book.)

Did I ever tell you that when I was very little, my sister and I shared a room, and we had a tv in our room? We would stay up late with the volume on low so we could watch shows our parents didn't like us watching, like Baywatch. I recall I saw a sex scene for the first time on that show.

I asked my sister what they were doing, and she said "That's illegal!"

So ever after when mom was watching her soaps, I was now intrigued on when the characters would get caught by the cops for what they were doing. It was a crime show!

That's hilarious! Spend any time pondering why your mom spent so much time watching people engage in so much criminal behavior?

Yeah, thinking about that can only lead you down some very unsettling paths.

On a happier note, I'm developing a robust library of dirty limerick books! ;-)

A public service announcement (and something to entertain you for a few seconds) ... because you know it's true.

(Don't give the answer away for other readers.)

Share some of the limericks.

On the topic of fencing... almost finished. I discovered I don't mind fencing - but I really suck at straight lines!

I do, routinely changing the limerick in my signature ... sometimes as often as once a week but frequently much less often.

Here's a bonus:

There was a young hooker named Gloria,
Who was had by Sir Gerald du Maurier;
And then by six men,
Sir Gerald again,
And the band at the Waldorf Astoria.

There was a young man of Glengarry,
Whose cock was too heavy to carry.
So he put it on wheels
And hired trained seals
To pull him around Londonderry.

So I follow a character on Twitter who calls himself Drunk Hulk, so I can get insight from a superhero who's gamma irradiated and fully inebriated. And he tweets in an all-caps, broken-English style that's supposed to represent what a drunk hulk shouting would sound like, I guess. It actually works very well in the 140 character constraints of twitter and I usually find his remarks pretty funny. So today he posted this:

Tweeted by Drunk Hulk: INTERNATIONAL WOMAN DAY! AND FAT TUESDAY! WOW! AS IF THEY NO GOT ENOUGH SELF ESTEEM ISSUE TO WORRY ABOUT!

Ha ha ha ha ha!
