Am I or Am I Not Goth?

Hello
Salutations
Greetings

I'm Chris from Saint Paul, Minnesota

Does loving BDSM, being tied down and being a slave make me goth? I'm just curious and a friend pointed me out to this website.

No, it makes you someone who is into Bondage, Domination and Sado-Masochism, hence the BDSM you mentioned yourself. It doesn't make you any more or less goth than someone who abstains from sex altogether, or homosexuals, lesbians or hetero's and other sex-starved (normal) people out there.

If anything, you might be mistaken for one if you dress the part in public (PVC, vynil and leather), something REAL BDSM people seldomly do, unlike "goths" who often care more about style over content.

So there you are, in Winsconsin, dressed up in black latex getting spanked like the bad boy you are, while N'Sync plays in the background....
How goth are you, then? Not much unless you're doing it for the masochist side of things, in wich case, you rule, you perverted fiend.

Are you kind of getting the picture yet, or do I have to confuse you even more with contradictory BS?

I understand. I enjoy the company of people who consider themselves gothic. I'd rather not be in minnesota wearing latex and listening to N*stink. I prefer hard house, erotic house, and other styles of music.

Would you help me out more by telling me more what "Goth" is?

Go to google, type out the phrase "goth with a sledgehammer" and click enter.

Proceed to click on the links provided. Truth is upon you.

Or you can go directly here and stop bugging us for research you should do yourself:

Mael, I think he likes being commanded! *snicker*

Chris, or SadoMasoMaybe, if you have a general interest in Gothic literature or films or theater or music or culture, it may be that you will find someone to talk to and something of interest to talk about here. If so, welcome to this place.

If your interest and commentary is primarily BDSM, I think you will hear a lot of crickets chirping.

So, last night I went up to Duluth to get away for the weekend. I went to a buddy of mine's place. He is goth.

Anyway, we got really stoned with one of his friends. We were sitting around listening to music and the above quote was an actual conversation between these two people I was with.

I had to leave this morning.

This thread reminded me of that.

I can understand wanting to get away from that. It sounds like so many brilliant stoner conversations where I just wanted to yell at the genius making the oh-so-astute (NOT!) philosophical observation, "Dude, jam your mouth full of Doritos and shut up!"

BDSM does not equal goth.

Congratulations on being a 'deviant' though...
