Advice anyone.
I just want to lose some weight. I'm 164 and I want to at least get down to 130-140. Any suggestions?

What height are you? 130-140 may be lower than your body was built for.

If you want to lose weight safely you can increase your workout or decrease how much you eat. With an average workout you would eat around 1.800 calories a day.
Refer to Active Person's Consumption.

I went on the "Ophelia's Snorkel, you pig, how can you eat so much?!" diet, and it worked like a charm.
Seriously, cutting your consumption and making what you do eat healthy and fresh is a good, slow, safe way. Add in some exercise to burn off more calories, and the math really takes care of itself. It's slow, but you'll get there.

Go vegan again and do it the right way, i.e don't try to live on chips and cookies and french fries.
All the times you think you want to browse the net-go run instead.

OR! Go browse for vegan friendly recipes 'cause most of the vegans I know have no idea how to cook and are basically starving themselves half the time.

Eat clean. 5-6 smal meals a day each with a complex carb, protein and fat. Avoid processed food, higher sodium foods, and artificial fats/sweeteners. Your body has a craving for a reason and artificial fillers will make you overeat in the end.
Your daily estimates of each should be:
On work out days:
60% carb/20% fat/20%protein
On rest days
40% carb/30%fat/30% protein
Carbs are good for you, but it's what kind of carb you eat that determine your energy and ultimately your fat stores. Simple sugars burn faster and make you feel hunge rpangs sooner- BUT they can be aweseom before a work out to get you through. Complex carbs are higher in giber and lower on the GI and make you feel fuller longer.
Before sleeping for 7-8 hours a night, have a glass of fat free milk as it will keep your metabolism going, provide protein, and keep protein and ultimately muscle from being wasted away.
All that being said, have planned cheat meals of the food you love about every other day. this allows you to eat what you want in a controlled setting and avoid the binge.
Workouts should be at least 30 minutes 5 times a week of RPE 7-8 of cardio with resistance training of 3-4 days a week, alternating days. Aim for 2 sets of 8-10 reps on major muscle groups. But at your age- go for restistance bands over free weights. Bone ossification can be slightly retatded from overbearing weight exercise in a non-supervised setting.
Have at least one rest day per week to let muscle repai and build so that it can more healthfully burn fat on your next workout.
Lose the scale, get a tape measure.
Bext of luck!

You're vegetarian you say? See if you can't get the book Becoming Vegetarian by Brenda Davis, it covers veganism too if you want to give that a try. I bought it for my roommate who recently went vegetarian and is also trying to lose weight, I'm reading it before I give it to her though XD Its really good, explains the science behind what you eat, what you should look for as a vegetarian, losing weight on a vegetarian diet and has a lot of recipes. Its a big book so I really can't paraphrase but its everything you ever need to know about nutrition.
And don't forget excercise, and it doesn't have to be a bore, try to find something you'll enjoy doing. I could do yoga all day if I could but I fucking hate strength training, for example. One of my best friends lost a ton of weight after learning Taekwando.

I have reached such culinary skills that its a miracle I'm not five hundred pounds. Although lately I'm trying to keep it simple and healthy.

I've actually been toying with the thought of going vegetarian.
But I draw the line at giving up milk and leather.

Why? Leather isn't green and often is a co-product, or in the case of Indian leather, its meat thats the by product.
