Greetings and Salutations - Wolve

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)

I am a senior systems engineer/analyst.

As far as hobbies there are allot of them they range from video games to fishing. I like to dance, write, read, sing. Most of my recent hobbie time has been playing dress-up, super heroes, and kung fu action theatre with my 2 year old little girl. I am an old school industrial/goth/punk from the 80's.

2. Where are you from?

Baltimore

3. Who is your favorite author?

I have many, but if I had to choose one I would say Richard Bach. I know i will be trite, but Poe is up there. Shakespeare is also high on my list, especially A mid summer night's dream. Lots of fantasy authors.

4. What are your favorite films?

Hmmm . . . that is hard. I am a geek in most senses so I am a "horror geek", a "star wars geek". I like the Matrix and bladerunner. And may get boo'd out of here, but I was absolutely obsessed with the Crow. Again big fantasy guy so things like Legend, labyrinth, the Harry Potter films. I have an unhealthy obsession for nightbreed and the hellraiser series (even the bad ones). Of course "a typical" most all vampire films from the cheese, to the hollywood overproduced, to the classics. I do like films with substance as well, 12 angry men was mentioned; i liked both renditions. I also liked both renditions of "Of Mice and Men" although I have to say for a fresh change I think Malkovich knocked it out of the park.

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?

Been there and we danced to Judas by Depech Mode as "our song" for the first dance as husband and wife.

6. At your funeral?

Hmm . . . I guess that would depend on how I went lol. If I went in a way that I would be satisfied with I guess something sarcastic and melancholy maybe something from the Smiths say Cemetery Gates or Even Last of the famous international playboys (Morrissey not the Smiths).

If I went out in some pathetic mannor that would piss me off, then I would probably grab something out of the Ministry archives or maybe the misfits.

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?

I reckon staked through the heart, as that would that I got to spend some time as a Vampire before I depart for good. Otherwise, probably in some tragic, romantic drama in my wifes arms (sue me).

8. What kind of casket would you want?

Hold your ears, I think i'll just take the old barbeque. Caskets are for the living and the undead. If i am dead just roast me and spread the ashes. Now if I am undead . . . typical black maybe vinyl on the outside and silk and velvet on the inside.

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?

Not sure I have a favorite I am eccentric after all, but I was fond of my docs, black leathers, and red and black checkered flannels back in the day.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?

Nothing I am still a kid, I have been responsible since I was about 7 years old, but I will NEVER EVER be an adult.

11. What's your favorite band?

If I had to pick one The Cure, but Social Distorion, Misfits, Ministry, the Smiths, Depeche Mode, and Echo would be very close behind. My complete list however would probably hit the character maximum on this blog *wink*.

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?

College BS: I went through twice once as a theatre major which i did not finish that degree. The second time Business Information Systems where I aquired my BS in BIS.

13. Why did you join?

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?

Male

Any guy who is playing kung fu action theater with his two year old daughter is doing something right. I hope you have some fun opening presents with her tomorrow morning.

My spell checker is having a fit with "kung"! LOL!

Also, listing "12 Angry Men" puts you on my interesting list. Welcome to this place. I look forward to your contributions.

Thank Everyone for the welcomes.

Ben - love the name one of the better porn star names I've seen lol!

I am looking forward to the presents; in fact just finished with the last of the prep work and heading to bed. She is the best thing I've ever done and I have the most joy in life playing with her, teaching her, and learning from her!

And yes she does attempt to mimic the voice overs like I do when she is kickin my arse with a karate chop.

I apparently missed number thirteen. I blame it on the rabid mouse wheel that often attacks my screen scrolling.

13. Why did you join.

A few reasons, first and foremost intellectual conversation. I like to read others thoughts and writings, and it helps if they are like minded in some ways. I also love folks with similar music tastes checking out new bands or tracks I have not heard. Finally, I reckon that a part of me is looking to live vicariously through others as my days of storming the underworld have slowed tremendously as of late.

Anyway enough jib jab . . . I am off. I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday or at minimum a holiday that turns out how you would prefer it.

So nice to meet you, Wolve. I ended up reading some of your thread responses before I came across your intro - so I already knew I liked you. I hope you and your little girl are having the best Christmas ever.

Thanks Ophelia! BTW that name just plain rocks. I bet if she had a snorkel things may have turned out different in the state of Denmark.

Xmas was awesome. We spoiled her as usual. She got everything she wanted and then some. Mom mom even gave her a treasure chest for us to paint for when wke play pirates.

Anyway, here is to you and yours having a great HOLIDAY!

Is it odd that I like The Smiths but don't care for much Morrissey has done solo?

Thanks for the compliment! I think of it either as hopefulness and salvation, or as deceit and escape - it depends on one's view of the play as a whole.

I'm so glad you and your daughter had a wonderful Christmas! The pirate chest just sounds like so much fun. When you get it painted, you should really post a picture of it in the Cool DIY Accomplishments thread. We gave our daughters (aged 12 and 7) mp3 players, and they both wanted The Sisters of Mercy put on : ) The younger one calls This Corrosion the "kiss my toe" song, because she thinks the lyrics go: give me the ring, kiss my toe, give me something that I miss... Haha, I love being a parent.

That is just awesome! Mine has not had 2 much exposure to Sisters of Mercy but she loves Social Distortion and New Order. I am sure that SOM will come given time. And This Corrosion is one of my favorites! And yes i can relate when they mix the words on a song. It just makes you lol! I got mine (Hailey BTW) an MP3 player as well, one of the rubber fisher price types filled with kids music like BINGO, I have already started replacing it with the music she likes!

NP! I can't help it. The Smiths' music is so think with sarcastic irony you can choke on it.

Ben - That also might explain why you do not like Morrissey as much as the Smiths, as there is allot less of that wonderful sarcastic Irony in his solo work. He is more into himself in his solo work.

And don't feel that bad Ben; when the Depeche Mode 101 tour came around I went to see them and most my friends went to see Nitzer Ebb? Go figure

Anyway I can listen to either.
