Once again Amber's costume totally made my night, that and the fact that I was able to have a fun party, that actually ended at a decent time, without having to kick anyone out, and I have already managed to completely clean up the living room.

Okay, as you folks know from my last official rant, I had to go in today for a 'head-locking' session with my boss. Needless to say, my 'lovely' coworkers were dancing, gloating and otherways sneering. Sooo, I was prepared to defend myself, argue the point, whatever, because I knew the write-up was unfair and the whole thing 'made my Irish hair catch fire.' Instead, one of my friend's suggesting trying the Biblical thing of 'agreeing quickly with your adversary.' I thought, 'that's so crazy it might just work', so I tried it. Upshot: It totally blew my boss away!! Every time she'd try to get snotty or bitchy, I'd just agree with her. She even tried to make it look like I was disagreeing with her,by arguing with herself -- loudly!! Didn't work. So she told me just to sign the write-up and not comment on it, and then she stalked off in a huff. Instead, I signed it and stated that I agreed to all her 'terms'. Upshot: After she turned it in, she came over and told me the Employee Advocate wants to talk with me!! She also LEFT EARLY, yaaay, because she said she suddenly didn't 'feel so good.' (My boss has never been sick a day in her life!!!). i'm still not happy about the end results of our little IMON (In My Office Now) conference, but it just cracks me up that I finally totally 'took the wind out of her sails' -- for once.

What made my day yesterday: a very enjoyable picnic in the cemetery, with excellent company. The weather was WONDERFUL.

That sounds like a lot of fun actually - never get to do anything like that around here. For one thing, there aren't any decent woods...

I got a shitload of compliments today. From to how adorable I looked to what a awesome figure I have (to a lot of older women saying "Pfft, you can tell you've never had a baby."). I should dress like a cat more often.

What CAN'T make my day on Halloween?!
But I have to tell you this before I leave.
So I'm getting everything together and dressing to go out and my pretty friend tells me "hey, Erika asked me if she can come with us"
FUCK!
Don't you hate when that happens? A fucking third wheel. But it's more than a third wheel. That girl is obnoxious. She can't tolerate her booze at all. she's fucking annoying when drunk, and as I told you, that happens all too easily. She always gets in the fucking way and likes to stand or sit right between her and me because the obnoxious one used to like me, and because she's hateful overall. And she's always asking for shitty hugs. I'm a huggable person and subsist on hugs and yet I think that this girl hugs like shit.
So I don't want to fucking have to take care of her drunk ass all night and give her hugs like if she were a wasted five-year-old.
How can I tell her not to come with us without sounding like an asshole?

Turns out I don't have to worry about that. My pretty friend told her "No."
A dry, solid "No." No, Erika, stay home on Halloween, we actually want to have fun.
I love my friend.

IT'S HALLOWEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNNN!!!! YAAAY!!!!

Except for now I can officially go over to the rant thread and explain why trick-or-treating your neighbors' kids is not for the faint of heart.

Swiping some of my daughter's candy and drinking Jagermeister is making my night!

Interested to hear what Jaye is going to rant about.

God, how I love rants.

Okay, I'll save you the trip and post it here, since that will make your day.

Hallowe'en was fun, as usual, except I now know what I'm writing for NaNoWriMo . I'm thinking about a how-to manual called "Hallowe'en For Dummies" (just joking). Believe me I think I could actually publish a book about how trick-or-treating' your neighbor's kids is not for the faint of heart. Meth actually has the right idea. Next year, I may just skip the whole thing, or throw a party like Skoteinh, or just go to one.

Honestly, you would not BELIEVE the number of people who came up to my place and ASKED me if I was trick-or-treating the kids. I mean, I'm in a costume, standing on the porch, holding a bucket of candy, the place is decorated, the porch light is on -- you do the math. Then there were the people who expected me to WALK the candy out to their car because they were afraid to come to the door!! One woman actually called me names because I refused to deliver the candy through her car window -- (she claimed she did not want to come to the door because she thought I might be psycho). I told her, "I'm not walking out there and sticking my hand through your window, lady. How do I know YOU'RE not psycho?!" So she drove off and called me a b@@tch -- in front of her kids. I mean, is it just me or are people just getting dumber.

Aw, you are too sweet =)

I completely agree with not delivering the candy to the car.
People thought -you- were the one trying to score candy?

Maybe I would make an exception to the car delivery thing if it was freezing cold and there was a single parent with a bunch of little kids in the car. But that would be a case by case basis at the mercy of the whim of my mood.

How scary was your place anyway? Have pics? *grin*

Ya, you are right. Adults are getting dumber and wussier and totally paranoid. Too PC for their own fucking good. Got to sugar coat everything because heaven forbid someone experiences one negative feeling inside them selves which sometimes turns around to be the best kind of joy. But nooooooo, in this day and age we just can't take the risk! If little 'Owen' sees a fake blood splattered someone who has done it well and he thinks it's neato he may go and try to replicate it first chance he gets. The stupidity of the parents unfortunately filters down to the kids and gets magnified.
