Need some help with a coat pattern.

Ok, here is the thing, i want to make a custom sleeveless trench coat. normally, this would not be a problem, if were not for the apparent lack of patterns available for trench coats. (Dusters too)

i was wondering if anybody would happen to know of a source for a pattern for trench coats or dusters. i have heard of people ripping one apart to make a pattern, but of the two i have, the sleeves on one are not attached in such a fashion that making the coat without them would not really work. it is kinda hard to describe, but the seam that attaches the sleeve goes all the way to the collar.
the second coat i would rather not take apart

does anybody have any suggestions?

I though about this, but that would just leave me with a long vest, not quite what Im looking for.
Im thinking that if i can just find a coat at the salvation army i can modify from there, but in the past i have not had such great luck there.

Have you popped into a fabric store and asked? They may not have exactly what you are looking for but the employees may be able to tell you how to modify a pattern that they do have (such as an overcoat) so that it works for you.

Agreed! We have the same option and what I did before was to custom a pattern instead.

Yeah, Must try to customize a pattern first. if it's work, that's better.

Online Sewing Communities: Joining sewing forums or communities can be a great resource for finding specialized patterns or seeking advice from experienced sewists. Websites like Sewing Pattern Review or sewing-related subreddits often have members who can offer guidance or recommend unique patterns. photo booth Charlotte NC

Anytime my wife is looking to make something herself like this, she goes thrifting. She usually comes back with what she needs after going to a number of thrift shops. Maybe give that a try! renovation contractors

Absolutely! Seeking guidance with a coat pattern can be as comforting as slipping into one of those cozy spiritual hoodies. Sometimes, finding the right design feels like a spiritual journey of its own. Best of luck with your project

Have you inquired inside a fabric shop? Although they might not have exactly what you're searching for, the staff might be able to give you advice on how to alter a pattern they do have—like an overcoat—so that it works for you. flood restoration auckland

Although I haven't had the best of luck there in the past, I figure if I can simply locate a coat at the salvation army, I can modify from there. www.hayscomm.com/it-services
