Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Music on repeat!
Do you have a song you listen to a million times over, and still love it? In fact, you have an entire cd with that one song burned on whatever amount of times, and listen to it on your cd player/which is set on repeat all? My song is called Hiru no Tsuki by Akino Arai, so far today, I've listened to it 50 times. Here's a link of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bz1508RBx2w .

I'm actually really OCD about that kind of thing. It bothers me to listen to the same song two days in a row, let along more than once in one day. Especially if it's a song I really like, because I don't want to get sick of it.

I'm guilty of "music on repeat" When I'm on the computer I'll usually put on a song or two that I really like and just let them repeat over and over and over....

When I first hear a song I really really like, I'll usually listen to it over and over and over like that...but I eventually get tired of it after awhile and go back to my usual variety.

I used to listen to songs repeatedly when I heard something good, but its been a long time since I've discovered new music that I just have to listen to over and over.
But boy howdy I can listen to Still Alive by Johnathan Coulton all day long.

Well, I never really grow tired of American Woman by the Guess Who (forget the Kravitz version... ugh.) Most other songs that I love I try to listen to only once in a while so their charm doesn't wear out.

I listened to Anarchy by KMFDM for a week. Then I listened to Comfortably Numb/Some Kind of Stranger by the Sisters for a week. Now I've been listening to New Gold Dawn by Fields of the Nephilim for a few days... I really don't need variety in my music.

Lately I've been repeating all the Frank the Baptist albums.
And these songs:
Metal Postcard - Siouxsie
Torpedoes - MDFMK
I'mmortal / Candle - Skinny Puppy
Tell Tail - Specimen
A friend in Mescalin / Funny, Sad and Cruel - Bloody Dead and Sexy
Du Riechst So Gut - Rammstein
Cracker - ohGr
Radio Schizo - Rudimentary Peni
Everything's Cool - Pop Will Eat Itself
Blunt Force Trauma - Chemlab
Vivid Still Beating - All Gone Dead
I've never got 50 plays on any one song in a day though.

"You Look So Fine" by Garbage.
Once I get on a Garbage kick it won't end for days--if not weeks.

I have Garbage kicks on occasion, usually with "I'm Only Happy When It Rains"
Master of Tartarus by Shoji Meguro is another that finds itself on repeat quite often.

I go on little OCD stretches.
For example there are sometimes when I flip the switch on the ol Ipod I must go listen to a certain song.
But there are just some songs I will never change if they pop on.
These being:
Just like heaven, Pictures of you, and Boys don`t cry by The cure
Wicked game, Passions killing floor, and Your sweet 666 by HIM
Ribbons, and The temple of love by Sisters of mercy
Endless summer of the damned, and Slice of life by Bauhaus
Only happy when it rains by Garbage
Doll parts by Hole
Kill all your friends by My chemical romance
Coin operated boy, and Shores of california by The dresden dolls
Never wanted to dance, and Prescription by Mindless self indulgence
Come as you are, Lake of fire(cover), and Heart shaped box by Nirvana
Stigmata by Ministry
Your best nightmare, Americas a fucking disease, and the Bondage song by London after midnight
Head like a hole by Nine inch nails
Wow, I can get sexual to by Say anything (This song never fails in making me laugh and be merry)
Anarchy in the U.K. by The sex pistols
And pretty much the entire Phantom of the opera and Sweeney Todd soundtracks.
I know I`m forgetting songs, but this list is already to damn long.

Ah! Good egg! No one has topped the Guess Who with that song...
I can usually listen to... hmm... Lasse by Qntal, The Wrong Side by Abney Park, You by China Touch, Plainchant from Palestrina's Missa Nigra Sum (soooooo beautiful), Benedictine Monks of Santo Domingo de Silos, Dominion/Mother Russia by Sisters of Mercy, and a bunch of other songs/albums that I'm too lazy to remember right now.
