well, everything that is not goth is "un-goth"
so what makes something that is not goth more goth than another thing that is not goth?

Neil Young, Grateful Dead, Fleetwood Mac, Allman Brothers, Creedence Clearwater and The Eagles are pretty serious ones.

I love Polysics and Bullet for my Valentine... far from goth, but I love them just the same.

-Dilated Peoples-
the only Hip Hop I dig anymore
Kool Keith's various projects are OK sometimes
but DP always delivers for me; always solid; always the real thing.
and very ungothy

Jazz is most likely the "un-gotheist" genre that I dabble in.

Probably some of the power metal bands I listen to, like Gamma ray, Sonata Artica, and Blind Guardian.

Meg she is a Japanese singer who uses computers to enhance or change or voice. She sings more dance and electronica music so it sounds good.

Forgive me if this sounds ignorant, but I think some things can more ungoth than others. For example, "Tocatta and Fugue" by Bach is clearly not Goth Music. But its more goth than, say, "Hit Me Baby One More Time". That's an extreme example, but there are a number of music genres that are somewhat related to Goth Music, such as post-punk and new wave. Compare that to, say, Rap, which is not related at all.

Ahahahaha, THAT is excellent! Having both Adam Ant AND The Decemberists on my iPod, I feel a little less alone. That said, I have a good number of cringe-worthy, ridiculously un-gothy bands I enjoy...New Pornographers, Dandy Warhols, Sleater-Kinney, among others...but I'll stop there before I do further damage to my as yet non-existent reputation.

What's wrong with New Pornographers?

Nothing at all! They're definitely in my "Top 10", just very much "un-gothy" and downright bubblegum pop-like at times...but damn, can they write good music! And a surprisingly powerful live act, if ya get the chance to see them!

Glad someone else has at least heard of them, though!

Lol, bullet and system are alright imo but most true metalheads don't consider those bands metal, try listening to Iron Maiden to start off and I can recomend some awesome metal bands from the 80's/90's.

I can't belive how many times I just wrote metal...lol

I love that song too. Reminds me of my early teenage years.

My un-gothiest artist is: (drum roll please)

(you're gonna love it)

(it's gonna make you laugh)
