Good lord. English signs are in countries where they get a lot of English tourists or they have an English speaking population, just like we have a lot of signs in FRENCH and in CHINESE.

Boo fucking hoo for Ontario. Like you guys even know what a struggle is. When you guys can't even afford to fix your fucking roads or repair schools that are falling apart, then you can talk about Ontario not being a province anymore. Thats just not where the extremely wealthy is anymore.

And yes I like a minority government because now no party has complete control, everyone has to work together. Its much more fair for representation that way too.

And yeah, "fuck scholarly types!!" Whats with the fear of people with an education?

Ooooooh I get it, you're upset Stephen Harper didn't get a majority. Sorry mate, enjoy him while it lasts.

Minority governments are awesome, provided the Opposition does their job.
I like the idea of having respectful debate, which unfortunately doesn't always happen in parliament. People should talk together and learn about each other's point of view and find the best way of proceeding.

The whole language signs thing reminds me of a store in Banff. They came on with this elaborate announcement in Japanese, and then after they did the English announcement, which was along the lines of *puts on heavy Japanese accent* "Store closing... go home."

Blergh, I'm late to this thread. I just found out I can vote absentee because I have dual citizenship there along with the States. What's the voting age, when do they hold elections, and what's the voting age?
And also, who should I vote for? I'm a Democrat, so I'm geussing Liberal Dems.

Elections are over! XD But wait! Usually when we have a majority government, an election is held every four years, but because its a minority, we can have an election at any given time o.O maybe in a year or so, whenever Harper feels like he can win a majority or if the opposition feels like they can win, or if Harper puts out a budget that no one supports.....so it can happen any time!

You need to be 18 to vote. What party you support depends largely on how far left you go, our Liberals aren't the same as your Democrats, the Liberals kinda pride themselves whenever they take a socialist stance after all ^_^ and there's the New Democratic Party (NDP), who are the most left leaning, if they ran in the states they would be painted as evil socialists I think XD.

There's four parties in the house right now (Liberal, NDP, Bloc Quebecois, Conservative), five popular parties (Green Party is popular but never won a seat), and there's lots of other parties as well ^_^ Here's a list!
