Quitting Smoking
This is day 3 and i still have not smoked any cigarette.
A 1-2 pack/day smoker here by the way.
Also, chills, stomach pain, dizziness, headache, loss of concentration, funny that i am enjoying this.
I even have no idea why i am doing this, but i guess it's after seeing some kind of a commercial video where the doctors open up a smokers corpse and push his heart artery and there gets out some yellow sludge out of it.
So, who's into this, and why are you still smoking ?
P.S : i am at worse stage than being stoned, no wonder i made this topic.

I quit smoking.
It was very hard, but not as hard for me as it is for some.

I used to smoke, but I don't have the budget for crap like that. I don't need to spend five dollars a pack to fuck my health up. I can do that just fine using good old sloth.

Years ago I used to smoke before going to bed, thinking I couldn't quit or I wouldn't be able to sleep. After 10 days without smoking, I fell asleep 5 minutes after my head hit the pillow.
I quit because I got tired of coughing every morning when I woke up, I was very very motivated. I am so glad I am not a slave to that addiction anymore. Now I am trying to help Mrs. Humane quit, but she is more addicted than I.

Magila, are you still staying away from cigarettes or did you eventually end up smoking again?
Opteron, one of my old friends had a hard time quitting too. In the beginning he said he could quit anytime he wanted to, but several months later, he was smoking a lot more and couldn't get himself to stop. I talked to him a few months ago and he said he quit, but who knows if he started smoking again. It's a tough addiction to kick. I think it's crazy how some people can smoke casually and never get addicted.

I feel bad for my friend Steve, I can see in his eyes that he wants to quit and is trying hard to quit with the various methods.
My mother on the other hand smokes like a chimney and has no ambition to quit. Her mother died from emphasima and her sister is dying from likeley the same thing.

To anyone who is trying to give up smoking.
Start smoking cigars instead. They're not as damaging as cigarettes (as you don't actually inhale the smoke), and they give more or less the same relief. When you feel confident, then try and quit the cigars.

Good idea, but anyone that smokes cigars knows that they cost $8+ a pop. If you're smoking a pack of cigs a day ($4.50), you'd be smoking about 10 cigars if not more a day, meaning ($80).

I don't understand, what do cigs taste like? Is that what smokers like about them? I know nicatine is what gets them addicted.

Personally, what I enjoy about smokes is the flavour, if you get a decent pack. The Nicotine rush is definitely fun too, but I think I only get that because I don't smoke that much.

I usually smoke a pipe, I like the smell and it tastes better. Cigarettes do the trick when you don't have time to fill and light a pipe though.

If you have an organic stores around you, go by some of those organic cigarettes. According to my friend's mom, they're gross and well help make you stop.
I don't know from experience, but her husband is battling lunch cancer and has been for over a year. He's currently on oxygen. The addiction is crazy. Sometimes he'll smoke though he'd dying.

I love smoking. Benson and Hedges are my absolute favorite but I usually smoke camel filters because they are cheaper. I tried to quit, but couldn't even make it through the day. I love evrything about smoking, the look of the smoke in the air, the lighters, the packs, even the smell of a freshly lit cigarette. And I love the nicotine, of course.

I agree with the pipe being worlds better. What brand of tobacco do you use?

Now that I feel like a complete asshole for asking what sort of tobacco someone preferred in a post about quitting...
Congratulations on getting on so well without smoking! I usually only go about two days before I start again, and swear it was seven.

I plan on quitting smoking in the not too distant future - it costs too much and there's brown shit in my phlegm in the mornings. I'm lucky though - I've only really been pack-a-day smoking regularly for a year or so. I have every sympathy for people who've been smoking for years. If it's this hard for me, they must be screwing without a cigarette.
