I would just like to say that "Murder the Dawn" is far more impressive than any of their 7"'s. If you *have* to pick up a 7" by them, pick up "Rock Star Autopsy"; the Drunks With Guns song on the other side is pretty good too.

Velvet Eden, Dir En Grey and Malice Mizer.
All from Japan and all three that are different sounds but have a common beginnings. Way back when, in the mid 90's in Japan, they're was a fashion movement called Visual Kei. Whatever...
Velvet Eden was a darkwave band that lasted only a few years but gave pretty good music.
Dir En Grey is like a death metal band with a rock sound. Can't really describe it accurately to those who never heard of them.
Malice Mizer was a band that started the EGL and EGA fashions by it's bassist. The last few albums from them were pretty gothic sounding.

Since I can't post any links yet, I'll just give you some song names that anyone can look up.
Dir En Grey - Kodou
Malice Mizer - Beast of Blood
Velvet Eden - Igyou Hime

Octavia Sperati: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1Zfwx8bYDc

Mandragora Scream: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kz7ksIME6tE They're a little overdone, but I'm not familiar with any other bands that the lead singer is a female contralto.

And finally if anyone knows Dark Eden, I like you. They're from NYC, and I designed the sigal for them. Yea...I'm Cailyn

The video was very low budget, but better than some I've seen... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kh_XcjwP6c8

If you can find them "Mouseblood" and "The Resurrection" are good albums. "Murder the Dawn" is a bit too metalish for me. "Life is a Wild and Scarey Thing" is really good. Mick Mercer just did a thing on them on his website.

I've heard a song that I think is called "A Cold Dark Place to Die". I remember liking it.

If there is a top 100 Gothic songs of all times, "A Cool Dark Place to Die" would diffently be on it. If you haven't heard it here's a link

Thanks for the head's up. After buying a handful of 7"'s, I had determined to rest on "Murder The Dawn," since I mostly kept turning up disappointment after disappointment. I just PayPal'ed the cash over for "Life is a Wild and Scarey Thing," so here's hoping your taste is as good as it's seemed in the past. :-p

You should try emailing them. I bought "Kill Your Girlfriend" when it came out and hated it (although I like it more now). They sent me a long reply about what the were thinking when theu did it and sent me a bunch of stuff. LIFE IS A WILD AND SCAREY THING is definitely an unknown treasure. Go to MICKMERCER.COM and read his recent review of it. He does a good job of describing it.

No worries, he's already on my LJ friends. I just don't go on LJ too much, really. Mick is a writing machine; we really need to clone him so we have a backup.

i discovered some guys. I was watching some games trailers and after a while I realised that all were the same so I switch to my current desktop software and I let just the sound to come out from the player. After a while I realised that something changed in sound and I switch back to game trailers and I discovered something different from what I saw before. The game is called Collapse and the music is composed by newtone from russia. Since then, I keep listen to this insane song called "the path". Is sending me in other world where I never was before. You can see/listen the game trailer at creoteam website and look for the first trailer (not the 2nd) called presented for the first time at GamesConvention 2006. This song is insane, I will get the game just for this.

You Say Party! We Say Die! and Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer (but they're kind of indie). Also Emilie Autumn and She Wants Revenge.

'Holy Cow' they're an amazing band and I'm tired of people saying '...who?', I'm not sure if they have a myspace page. :[

Also, I love the band 'Sunna'. No one seems to know them. :/
