Your Local Scene
So I was at a club called Perversion last night (the first time I'd been in a while) and I noticed a lot of My Chemical Romance look-a-like kids. Great hair! But the outfits were killing me. And the skinny pants! For some reason there were a lot of vaccuum-sealed pant clad lads in attendance.
It got me thinking....what is the scene like where you live? How do the patrons dress at your local club? Are there many "normal" people that go or is it mostly JUST the 'goffs'?
Let me know how your area gets down and who all (what groups/styles of people) is in attendance.

The scene around my school, which is pretty much the only place I have access to, is a giant devide. You have ravers on one end, the as-you-described it "My Chemical Romance Look-A-Like Kids" in the middle, and the Metalheads on the other. They all like each other, but that's pretty much the whole "scene".

HA! Scene? What scene? Here we have bars (because they are bars, not clubs) that are the standard country/70's style rock atmosphere There is also one 24 hr kinda biker bar, and the casinos.
The nearest metrolpolis is Reno, I don't get there that often and have been looking for a good place for a night out. If anybody knows of one, I'd appreciate a heads up.
I suppose there are the standard groups in the highschools, but I don't want to get slapped with a "contributing to delinquency" charge :P .

It's all metalheads and "My Chemical Romance Look-A-Like Kids".
I know this, not because I go to these places, but because my friends go to said places and always complain about how I'm the only chick who dresses the way I do. And then they go on about how they wish I were single.
Sometimes I wish I were single too. :C

None whatsoever. I have to drive at least 15 to 40 miles in any direction to find anything remotely similar. And when I get there, I find people who think like Draconysius and the other people on this thread. Could you please not refer to us as "metalheads"? That's really demeaning and undignifying. Just because you are incapable of respecting Metal does not mean you should treat me like an illegal alien in an Interment camp. And how dare any of you even compare "metalheads" to anything untern. I should take my "elf hair" and my homophobia to the corner shoppe and listen to my shitty Metal music.
In the meantime I'll listen to a bunch of pre-pubescants tell me all about what "Goth" is. Sometimes I don't know whether I love or hate this website.

Oh, by the way, Killer_Asian_Dax, I wasn't referring to you, I was referring to other people in this thread. I quoted you by accident.

The scene in my tow is lame. Here's a tip. If you want good success as a goth and you don't want to b stabbed or lynched, don't live in Tennesee. I must say I have found one thing. Its a goth night every Wednsday at this club called "New Moon".

I have no problem with the metalheads. O_o
I listen to metal. It's just they actually refer to themselves as metalheads, so I figured it wasn't anything degrading.
Said guys who complain about me being the only chick who dresses the way I do are metalheads who refer to themselves as such. And I must say, they are damn sexy with their tattoos and piercings and ripped off sleeves. And then actually hearing them sing (or should I say scream?). It's just...WOW. O_o
Sorry to offend you, Vako, I really didn't think it was offensive. :C

Er, also, Vako, I wasn't comparing the two as similar. Just I live in a small area and so the two groups (as well as a bunch of other groups) tend to all hang out together and go see the same bands play. The town I actually live in is so small I can't even get a job 'cause everyone hired within a day of handing out applications. :/
I don't 'cause I live too far out for anyone to drive out and pick me up, so I don't go and mingle. I'd drive my self, but I still haven't gotten my license 'cause I'm scared of driving. ^^;

My local scene... uh... admittedly, I've only met people in my city on the internet (with the exception of one guy, who does the costumes at the Opera), but they seem to be nice. I never go to clubs here because the music they play seem to be mostly based on EBM and metal, two musical genres that I personally can't like.

I don't have an amazing scene where I live, but since I'm within spitting distance of Philly and fairly close to New York, I'm lucky to have a decent scene.
Around here, you can find any type of person. Even in my my highschool, there are rivet heads, ravers, goths, and deathrockers. Of course, there are lots of emo people and such, but it's not a big deal.

I listen to an assload of metal.
I love metal, and I am proud to call myself a metalhead.
Sure, it's stereotyped, but when has stereotypes ever really mattered here?

Eh I want to see more of Humane with top hat.
Here where I live we have lots of emos, as well as lots of people thinking they're goths prancing around in their tripp pants I don't even think they have heard actual goth music. They have their own little dark corner in the hall where they listen to their music (not a single goth song played to date), one even went as far as walking up to one of my classmates and pulled out a bunch of staples she put in her arms showing off her scars. Unfortunatly the student populus believes them, and never even listens to me due to the fact that I don't always wear black and never wear any hot topic clothes. Such a terrible repuation they create, they even support the theory that all goths are satanists quite verbally.

If there are any goths where I live, they're hiding.

It's the same with me. As much as I enjoy seeing the stars at night, small towns, quite frankly, suck.

I loathe small towns. If anyone knows of anything remotely gothy about Novato besides me, please speak up! Could someone notify me if there are any good clubs/groups/etc. anywhere around Santa Rosa-San Francisco area?

I do admit that I can be a bit of a metalhead, but I am definately gothic. I have only met two other goths that live within 10 miles of me. Sadness.

Gurl! You should have just asked me. (But then again, you didn't know)
San Fran's got some pretty okay/good goth on-goings going on. Just google "San Francisco Goth clubs" or "goth club listings" and you'll be directed to the dark happenings up in your part of California. There's also a pretty big club in Sac if you're up for going that far. I don't know exactly where in Norcal you live, but there is definitely stuff to do up there for us dark-lovers.

The scene here isn't too bad at all. Cybergoths seem to dominate most of the club scene, along with EBM, but there's a deathrock night once a month which I plan on going to the moment I turn 18, and also a retro gothic rock/new wave night every week. As with anywhere (except maybe Camden in London) there isn't much of a detectable gothic 'presence' in the city, and it takes a bit of research to hunt down the local haunts.

Clubs over here are for 'normies'.
Not saying they're not alright; they're like the places you see in Wild On; but they're not somewhere I love to go every week.
Though I have been to another club. Definitely not for 'normies', but most certainly not for me. It's the club for all those society rejects and society-reject-wannabes and people that think Goth=Metal. Awful, awful music.
Then there's a club of whose existence I have only heard of at the other side of the river, and now that I'm 18 I'll try to find it. Maybe I'll find a place for me in there. ^^

The closest club I know of is in Philadelphia. I don't really like the "goths" at my school, mostly because they're irresponsible, don't care about school, and listen to metal...which I hate. The "goths" at my school, are just extremely annoying, and all they do is hang out at the mall...very boring bunch in my opinion.

I live in a heavily Marilyn Manson look alike area, but if you drive to the closest city [Brisbane] most people are pretty cool there. The closest one to me is in Brisbane which is Faith, kiss kiss bang bang etc.
