I did a google search and not much came up for Akira since a year ago, and Ninja Scrolls last November. I can see Ninja Scrolls happening but Akira we might not see for a long time, if it happens at all.

Its been a pretty long time since I saw Ninja Scrolls but Akira I think can work as a live action. Apparently its going to be two films based on the manga.

That's what's awesome. The original Manga only really covered the first book, with spattered doses of the other ones. It'd be great if they made two three hour movies that covered the entire story.
