Best horror/zombie flicks?

There are so many straight out BAD horror movies these days.
Recommend your favourites.
I've also been looking for some half decent zombie films recently, with not a lot of luck seeing as I don't know where to start.

Suggestions please?

I remember "The Orphanage" as being a good one, haven't seen it in a long time though. "Midnight Meat Train" was pure hilarity, meat tenderisers to the head and retina dangling action. =]. I heard "Session 9" should be good, but I haven't seen that one yet. "Blair Witch Project" is often seen as people running in woods and yelling, but considering it was the first of it's kind in low budget movie making, I think it deserves a go, it actually feels real, which kind of makes it good. Another one that's meant to be great is "Audition", though I haven't seen that one in a long time.
That's all for now.

I liked the Blair Witch Project. It actually scared me for once, haha.
I'll see if I can find the others, otherwise I'll just try and stream them in Google Videos or something.

Plague of Zombies isn't bad.

Well, okay, it IS bad. But in a good way.

Undead (2003) is pretty cool. There was another one I would recommend, but I've forgotten the title. All I remember is that the zombies were caused by mutant tree sap.

Edit: It's called Severed: Forest of the Dead.

For the most part I generally refrain from sampling literary and film works that feature lurching, rotting, flesh-devouring undead corpses, but the recent Norwegian film Dead Snow appears to be promising, with equal parts gratuitous gore and cliche comedy. In short; Nazi zombies.

The trailer can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkC7HiAlAeE

I forgot about that one. I remember seeing that trailer and thinking it looked suitably promising.

Did fucking NOBODY say Night of the Living Dead ( 1968 )? You're all cuntbags.

Also, The Return of the Living Dead is the best movie ever. Hands down. No argument. Just for the soundtrack alone.

For a good laugh, watch Vengence of the Zombies. The music in that makes me laugh uncontrolably. Especially the bad guy's theme music that follows him around everywhere.

Another bitchin-rad movie is Lucio Fulci's ZOMBIE. A zombie fights a fucking shark. How is that NOT bad ass?

In English it's called Night of the living Dorks. And it's very crappily dubbed.

I watched Return of the Living Dead 2 or something of the sort. I couldn't find a decent thing of the first, which I am eager to see purely for the soundtrack haha.

This reminds me I need to watch redneck zombies again. My favorite zombie flick always was Night of the Living Dead, but Return of the Living Dead is awesome, as is dead snow. Has anyone seen Flight of the Living Dead? I just heard about this movie and I'm wanting to see it.

I watched Shutter Dead on N3tphlix Watch Instantly the other day - that was pretty decent. I heart the zombie chick in RotLD3!!

Yes, a lot of zombie movies are lame, but I still love all of them.

I've also been curious. Mostly just to see if that guy really cuts his dick off with a chainsaw.

The original Day of the Dead is one of my favorites.

I have it, and I think it is awesome. I bought it really cheap at Wal-mart.

Carnival Of Souls was about zombies? I thought that was just fans of The Cure terrorizing a woman in Twilight Zone fashion.
