They were very much alive.
And yeah, moths. I know it's completely irrational. I actually find some of them quite pretty / interesting to look at, but only until they start moving, or surprise me with their prescence. They're the only bug I'm really afraid of.
One time I felt something crawling up my pant leg (for some reason this seems to happen to me a lot) so I tried to shoo it back out, but it kept climbing upwards and upwards.. eventually I decide I need to take off my pants to get it out (in the middle of my backyard) so I undo my pants, and a moth flies out.
I was hysterical.
