Just what every forum needs! Some evil guy(I might not be evil enough to others)
Its 3:24am in the morning right now and Hell-o(lawlz) Gothic board! My name is Erik or whatever you wish to call me for that matter. I've been hoping around on the forum just for information on fashion ideas and more bands that I haven't heard of that my 30 gig computer can eat up. I live in the Northwest side of the states, 20-40 minutes outside of Seattle in case any of you live near by, and I have not seen many goths around here. Now I am going to answer some questions!
Am I Goth?
Well I'll be honest, I'll let you decide from the knowledge you gain off of me! we all have separate beliefs and opinions on what Goth is.
How much do you know of Goth?
Enough to know Hot Topic doesn't give me enough goth points.
Will I get upset by your negative comments of what you think of me?
No, for 2 reasons:
1.Your all on the internet, so it not gonna hurt me at all :P
2.If you give me negative comments on a certain topic such as music, food *coughclothingcough* and other such things that might upset you I'll be glad to read and see how I can improve it on myself to my liking.
Why did I decide to sign up for this site?
I want to increase my knowledge on the sub-culture of goth on based of what I know. I do like learning more on my interest anyways.
Where do I shop for clothing?
I mostly get my shirts at concerts. I support the local Seattle Death and Black Metal scene. There is some good bands over here. Pants and jackets are from Hot Topic. I own(rents bought me them so its no biggie to me) 2 pairs of Tripp pants and 2 pairs of Tripp shorts and I do have a Tripp blazer that I decided to put patches on it so it looks all snazzy and such :B and I do go to thrift stores around town for other clothing.
What are my musical taste.
I mostly enjoy Horror Punk, Death Rock, Industrial/Aggrotech, and Northwest/Seattle Black & Death Metal whatever you wanna call it.
Favorite bands?
Some of my favorite bands consist of Wednesday 13, The Exploited, Astrovamps, Misfits, Cradle of Filth(story behind this band), Ceremonial Castings and Psyclon Nine
Whats the story behind Cradle of Filth and me?(skip if you don't really care)
When I was a young kid my dad grew me up on bands like Maiden, Anthrax, Slayer, Priest, Metallica and Megadeth. Then Napster came away and he found this "Extreme British Metal Band" called Cradle of Filth and got me a CD at the age of 7-8 and I was really into it. Soon he started to give me albums from bands like Rob Zombie, Slipknot(hate them to death now), Manson, etc. So until the age of 13 I was listening to a lot of the mainstream "Goth" and had no clue what Goth was at the time since my family never had a computer. When I had the chance I did some research on bands that I enjoyed I found out Cradle of Filth were a Gothic Metal band and the term of Goth got me interested so I spent more time of what Goth music was and where its roots came from and so fourth. One night I went to a local used record store and found a "Psycho Tina's Hell House of Horror" CD and I went and bought it. I went further into the old school goth bands which were Alien Sex Fiend, Sex Gang Children, etc and I was really into it. Then my musical taste got bigger, I was into music such as Hardcore Punk, Horror Punk, Dark Classical, EBM, Industrial,Dark Wave, Death Rock and so on.Now that I'm 18 and finally a man(by the government law :P) I do thank the band for leading me into what I really enjoy today.
Do you think we will get along?
I hope so! I try to get along with everyone, we do live on the same planet let us deal with it and get along :P
