D-tox

Yeah, well D-TOX is basicly the canadian HotTopic...and for my birthday my mom got me a $100 gift certificate from there. They basicly only have scene/emo clothes there and pretty much everything is a size smaller than what will fit me...I have no Idea what I could get...

This thread pretty much has no point but advice would be appriciated...

Socks, pretty socks. Arm warmers too. Shoes? If it's like Hot Topic, they may have some amazing jewelry/hair clips too.

Its kind of like hot topic...they have no jewelry, they have no arm warmers, but they do have socks...they're all houndstooth and rainbow ones though.

Maybe if I looked in the guys clothes...?

Don't go into guys clothes if you're going to get huge stuff that doesn't fit you. Unless you grab a hoodie or two, for winter snuggling purposes. You'll feel a lot better if you wear stuff that fits properly; not too big, not too small. It's just more comfortable and you'll *know* you look good.

I'd say... go for accessories? What do they have along those lines?

They don't really have accessories...except for those little emo bow hair clips. The girls clothes are all too small...I'm not huge or anything, it's just that all the clothes are meant for those skinny stick people girls...they have everything in XS but next to nothing in XL...god, I probably sound really whiny. My mom thought that this was the best present ever and I don't want to make her feel bad...

Neither, I'm probably going to end up with 20 pairs of houndstooth socks!

I agree, even though I have walked into D-Tox a few times and saw nothing relevant to goth styles (they did have a few Tripp pants there), but it's all emo stuff there. I got snubbed by the retailers there because I looked goth. Isn't it obvious they wouldn't?

kimaru, go for what you think would look good on you, I'm sure you will find something even though the selection there seemed limited. At least your mother did try her best to find something for you.

BTW, Happy Birthday!

It took 3 hours searching to find something, I got a guys hoodie and a guys Nirvana t shirt.
Even the guys clothes are really small, all the shirts are mean't to be skin tight...you have to be anorexic or something if you want to shop there.

Hot Topic has the same problem. I bought a Cure shirt from there (I know, I couldn't believe it either), but it's rather tight. Not that that really bothers me, I just hate having my arm pits exposed. I suppose I could wear a shirt under it..

Honestly though, I've had some good luck with Hot Topic thought. I've gotten some striped pants from there before, and I get some of my t-shirts from there. Sometimes, they actually have good music too. I got a sweat vest from there too.. and it's basically... God.

I've had my eye on that for some time.

I get my stuff from two different places online.

1.www.angryyoungandpoor.com a VERY good DIY punk place in Penn.
2.Profane Existance, based in Minneapolis, which is awesome, they're the largest anarchist punk zine/record label/distro in the midwest been around since 1988.

I want that DVD so badly! That's awesome.
Wouldn't expect that from someplace as mainstream as Hot Topic would you?

At least there are some things worth getting in there.
That's the only place you can get London After Midnight Tees unless you order them online or go to a show.

D-Tox is the pits.
The coolest thing I have seen there is some shoddy Pac Man pins.

Last summer they had the Decepticon "Police" t-shirt I really WANTED, but not in my size. Grrrrr. I have the patches anyways.

BTW Kimaru, now that I see your new avatar, I have seen you before.
