What Good Did you Do in the World Today?

I had an idea.

A lot of people are really negative. They don't take things that they do as good seriously. They believe that they're just fucking up the world, and that they're not contributing everything they should be.

So the idea of this thread, is to put something good that you did today. If you helped an old lady cross the street, built a house for children, etc, etc, then tell what good you did.

Remember, it's not a competition.

Today, I kept a promise. I swore to my girlfriend I would give her a call, even though it's a long-distance, high-phone-usage-time of the day, and kept it, even though she would have understood if I didn't..

I also helped out a kid understand his job a bit better. At the local fast food resturant, I ordered two combos (Different burgers, both with fries). Like always, I just listed off "1" and "6". The kid charged me for just the burger, and insisted that was the way things were handled.

I could have gotten upset, and thrashed the little bastard, but being a somewhat regular at the place, I told him how the system worked in a calm manner, since he was new there. He thanked me for the tip, and we all got on our merry way.

So.
What good did you do today?

I did not interfere and I let the lion eat the gazelle, guilt free. Because that's nature, baby.

I got up and went to work on time. We can all breathe a little easier now.

I don't even like bacon.

I made my brother breakfast.

He has a broken leg and he is bound to a wheelchair. So he can't get around easily.

I corrected an asshole.

Kidding.

My dog came in sad because my mom wasn't home so I cuddled her.

Yesterday I lighted a candle for someone I don't really know (and didn't realise this until after I'd done it)

On an everyday basis, I'm saving a truckload of animals from getting eaten by being a vegan; which in consequence does a lot of good to the environment. Yay =)

Took over a coworker's Customer call and fixed the problem for him. And paid the repair bill for my daughter's car. Does that count? O_o

You'd be eating a truckload of animals every day if you weren't a vegan?

My cat was meowing begging me to give her some attention, and although I was busy I took the time and cuddled her.

I laughed at one of my colleagues' jokes.
Trust me, it took a lot of effort and goodwill on my side.

That's two good deeds in one day. I'm spent!

Umm... no. But my family used to be eating a lot of animals, and after I quit doing so they can't be arsed to make two different dishes for dinner, and so no one here really eats much meat anymore. When I wrote that I meant on an annual basis.

I decided not to dock his pay because his kid went to the ER an hour ago. I "didn't see him leave". He was just doing non computer work.

Hey, hard work and good attitude pays off with this boss.

Because the voices in my head say so.

They tell me to do things.

Nice, nice things...

It scares me. .

I had intended to go give blood, but ended up babysitting instead. My iron's probably too low anyway.

I made sure my kids were still alive and healthy at the end of the day, and I did my best to make sure that they don't become assholes when they grow up.

I haven't been able to for some time, as there's a six month period after being pierced/tattooed when you can't. I hope the reason you can't give blood is serious I won't be so rude as to ask.
