Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

I have three, at the moment, though if I'm in a mood, anything can make me cry.
The Last Beat of my Heart - Siouxsie and the Banshees
My Immortal - Evanescence
Ever - Emilie Autumn

I agree with Kate Bush. There was a short drama [on BBC1 i think it was]. Tamzin Outhwaite had an affair with this married man and you hated her, and then she found out she had cancer and the main song used throughout it was 'This Woman's Worth' by Kate Bush. So sad! I cried loads, and i hate Tamzin Outhwaite!!

"Treasure" by the Cure makes me cry every time. Not tear up, either, hardcore weeping.

Hello by Evanescence... It's so sad, especially if you know the background story...

I can't really take Amy Lee seriously. I hate how she sings; it's like she sings the same four or five notes over and again, and just because she's a soprano people think she's amazing.

'All We Ever Wanted Was Everything' by Bauhaus. Also, 'Stone in the Rain' by Theatre of Hate which is going to play in the credits of the movie about my life.

I'd have to second that one. Especially if paired with Slice of Life.

I didn't even think of mentioning classical music, but Fur Elise is definitely a choice answer.
A couple of my own:
Eraser by NIN
Sing by The Dresden Dolls
All Cats Are Grey by The Cure

The song that brings a tear to my eye is 11 Dreams by Mercenary. The song is a tribute to 9/11.
Mercenary - 11 Dreams
Talk to me
Tell me your vision
The answer
Lies deep in you
Obey
These voices keeping you sane
Trust me, I promise
I won’t lie again
Never ever again
No
We are you dreaming
No
The dreams you’re feeling
So far away
We have to remember this day
It’s there in your eyes
Like diamonds ablaze
Sleepless we walk
Through the valley of dreams
We live life long enough
Like lifeless machines
Listen
Now
We’re learning children “be brave”
Their future may never be safe
You and me and I
Through this web of lies
No
We are you dreaming
No
The dreams you’re feeling
So far away
We have to remember this day
It’s there in your eyes
Like diamonds ablaze
Sleepless we walk
Through the valley of dreams
We live life long enough
Like silent machines
You and me and I
Through this paradise
You and me and I
Through this paradise
No
We are you dreaming
No
The dreams you’re fearing
Sleepless and cold
The moonlight guides me
Shadows unfold
The path of arrival
So far away
Remember September the day
With tears in your eyes
They will never be the same
A kingdom without a king
A prophecy of the free
Save us all from within
Start believing the dream
Sleepless I walk
The moonlight burns you
Voiceless I talk
The silence awakes you
Lifeless I stare
My eyes make you listen
Dreamless I dare
Make this your vision
So far away

"Overcome" by Live. It's a mantra, and Ed Kowalchek's (sp) voice is love, love, love
Even now
The world is bleedin'
But feelin' just fine
All numb in our castle
Where we're always free to choose
Never free enough to find
I wish somethin' would break
Cuz we're runnin' out of time
And I am overcome
I am overcome
Holy water in my lungs
I am overcome
These women in the street
Pullin' out their hair
My master's in the yard
Givin' light to the unaware
This plastic little place
Is just a step amongst the stairs
And I am overcome
I am overcome baby
Holy water in my lungs
I am overcome
So drive me out
Out to that open field
Turn the ignition off
And spin around
Your help is here
But I'm parked in this open space
Blockin' the gates of love
I am overcome
I am overcome
Holy water in my lungs
I am overcome
I am overcome
I am overcome
Holy water in my lungs
I am overcome
Beautiful drowning
This beautiful drowning
This holy water
This holy water
Is in my lungs
And I am overcome
I am overcome
I am overcome
I am overcome

I agree with the Gary Jules one. I have seen a video on Youtube about Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold from the columbine shootings with that song playing to Eric's sad and disturbing quotes. That song is just too gloomy.

I have quite a few.
By CXS alone:
Eye of the Storm
Winterborn
Monument
Helen
Birthday
Rumors of the Big Wave - "The Burning Times"
Evanessence - "Listen to the Rain"
Cats in the Cradle
November Rain
But I'm a huge CXS fanboy. They're like my hymns.

Actually, these songs mentioned above don' make me sad. They just make me cry. Kinda like how a good friend offers a shoulder and lets you release your feelings.

I love the Cure, but almost everything by the Cure makes me sad, but I don't cry, I'm a boy...
