I don't remember what grade I was in at the time, that day I was home sick. We were doing regular things around the house not watching tv when my father called, and told us to turn on the tv. It was a sunny day, I remember the sun shining down the stairs down to where I was on the lower level of the house. I don't think the sun shined the same way since. I've always wondered what it would have been like to have been at school that day, to discover at the same time as my class mates, what happened.

Agreed, it being an atypical situation you were in that day. While as for I, none of us kids were told what occurred; but simply huddled in the basement as parents started pouring in to pick their children up. After getting home I remember going into our yard and looking skyward at smokey clouds, before being forced inside. Then visualizing the evil man who committed this atrocity as some sort of obese redneck, kicking back in a dank Louisiana swamp with his confederate battle flag baseball cap on. Discovered later my parents concerns that the President might have been assassinated additionally, while some weeks later schools in California donated us backpacks and school supplies, as if our entire city had been demolished down to Darfur level living conditions.

I will never forget that day, eating breakfast about to leave for work and watching real time as the second plane hit, and then time went so fast, and the next thing I knew I was watching as the first tower collapse, and Peter Jennings (RIP) kept flapping his gums about some statistic or other, and I was shouting at the TV "My God Jennings! Can't you see the tower is collapsing??? People are dying!"
And then I went in the garage, got my flag that I normally put up on 4th of July and Memorial Day etc., and taped it to my car antenna, and then drove to work.
Then at work I learned that one of our biggest Customers (for the company I worked for at the time, before my current job), Cantor-Fitzgerald who had floors 110 to 115 had lost everyone in the company but for the few on vacation or out sick. They never quite recovered and their assets were bought out by another company.

Yeah, Osama Bin Laden is dead! I don't know how this is really going to affect anything. People will probably re-cap all event for another couple weeks before finding out what it really means to anyone and the USA being in the Middle-East.

This is incorrect. DNA was confirmed before the President announced it on live TV. I would have too. Would have been a damn campaign faux pas to announce it and then have it revealed it wasn't true.
