The first one is a heart, if you tilt your head to the side you can see it.

Yeah. I'm confused too. Us senior members seem to already have 1 rep point (at least I did) when I logged on. The new members don't. Is it because we are some much cooler then them? Just kidding. Any clarification would be nice.

The worse a person's reputation is, the better person they are. I mean geez,...who is going to sit around and make up shit that isn't true for hours on end?!

Basically, on your USER CP page you can check who gave you the reputation, and most importantly, WHERE it was given, so I take it that:

-A reputation is given by you to another member when you read something they post which you happen to agree with or find amusing/funny/entertaining.

-You can leave a comment to the member you're favouring along with the reputation point.

-Later, the member will know who gave him/her the rep point, and will know which thread/post caused the member to favour you with it.

I hope I was able to make you feel even more confused about this.
