Stencils

I bet there's probably a thread for this, but I haven't found it yet, any help?

Assuming you're wanting these for t-shirts etc, they're rather easy to make. I just trace some a printed picture at the size I want onto a piece of contact, cut out the parts I want painted with my exacto knife then stick it on a shirt that's stretched over a wooden board.
It's cheap too.
As for finding stencils, I remember there were a few sites linked around the place, in threads for jackets etc I think. Google it?

I must have explained stencil making at least a dozen times on this site.

All I use is photo paper and a stanley knife.

Try and get a thread sticky'd about simple DIY crap, stencil making, patches, shirts, etc?

There are some stencil sites but you can use any photos or images. Download GIMP, it's free.

Open the image in GIMP, crop it, click colourise and set saturation and hue to 0 then adjust the lightness, next fiddle with the brightness and contrast while thinking about what parts you want to remain in the stencil and which you don't mind losing. Now use the threshold tool and it will all be black or white.

Print it onto photo paper like Cicero, or print it onto normal paper, then tape it to a piece of thin card and use a scalpel to cut through both at once. You need to press quite hard or else have to go over it all again.

If the stencil has islands I tend to stick them to the fabric with double sided tape while painting.
