Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Name this Song...
Okay, so we don't have a thread for this yet.
If you don't know the song, only know snatches of the lyrics, some of us may be able to help you out.
And, of course, Wolfie is going first!
I've heard a song that says something about tearing wings off a butterfly. It's a guy singer. I wasn't thrilled with the song, but I'm curious as to who it is.
Lil help?

That would be H.I.M. doing their single "Wings Of A Butterfly", if I'm not mistaken.
As for a lyric for you all to guess....
"I saw Lon Chaney walkin' with the queen...."

Is it HIM's "Wing of a Butterfly"? Cuz it goes like this :" Come on and show them your love, rip out the wings of a butterfly..."
And Ville Valo's the guy singer.

Hiya Wolfie,
That sounds like `Butterfly on a Wheel` by `The Mission` which is on the 1989 album `Carved in Sand` (I have the singles for this album).

Lets see if anyone knows this... (I bet Wolfie knows)
"Little wolf skin boots
And clove cigarettes
An erotic funeral
For witch she's dressed
Her perfume smells like
Burning leaves
Everyday is Halloween"

I was going to say Ministry's "Everyday is Halloween", but only one line matches it.
I would like to know the title and artist of this gothic metal song. It sounds like "skin so white... I can't go... which one of us" it's a female vocalist if that helps any. I adore that tune.

Depeche Mode is the band that did that one - Blasphemous Rumors. I guess I could also say it was Martin Gore singing it.

Oh, I heard a song on the radio that I like but I never found out what it was. It was about the devil and God playing cards over the souls of the dead, and the devil kept cheating and God never noticed. It was a very dramatic song, and I can remember he sang something like "Oh lord, don't let him win" in the chorus.

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this one, the band is Nosferatu and I saw them on TV, and they were performing this song with the opening lyric ...
"You were so beautiful..."
Is their anyone who might know what this song is?

Okay, guys I think you've got the wrong idea here.
This thread is supposed to help people that only know snatches or parts of the lyrics of a song.
I didn't intend it as a 'Name That Tune' kinda thread.

Werewolves of London
edit: I guess it was that HIM song. No wonder I didn't like it. I thought it was a pretty silly song for a guy to be listening to...
No accounting for taste.

I heard a song.
I don't remember from whom, and I don't remember the lyrics, but it goes comething like this:
Da... Da Da Da Da Da, Da, Da, Da Da Da, Da Da....

Does anyone know the one that's like, "I'm gonna ring on your door bell, yeah I'm gonna ring, yeah I'm gonna ring it". They might not actually be the right words, but thats pretty much the gist of the song.

That would be "Doorbell" by the White Stripes, I think.
Although the lyrics to that go "I'm thinking 'bout my doorbell - when you gonna ring it? when you gonna ring it?"
Saucy little tune, isn't it? The video is cool too. Quite a disturbing mess.
