I'm looking forward to seeing The Wizard of Oz on the big screen tonight for the first time in my life. I've always been a big fan of the film (I have 3 versions of it on DVD, including the recent Blu-Ray release) but have never been able to watch it in a theater. I've got my tickets (it's the 71st anniversary of the film's release) and I'm as excited as a 10 year-old on Christmas Eve.

I ...I ...I have become addicted...to diet Pepsi. For SHAME!
I have to quit it before I develop bladder or kidney problems.

Maybe it is just the summer heat and a little dehydration. Welch's Concord grape juice used to satisfy me but not anymore, I must have developed a tolerance to it. REEFER MADNESS WAS TRUE!

**drool** I love Pepsi Max. I want some now! Does terrible things to the body, but it tastes delicious.

I'm so tired I can't sleep. Got my goddam book running around in my head. I really hate it when my characters go and do something they shouldn't. No doubt it will be another night of two hours sleep, while I try and write.

No, I get that people are very concerned (and rightly so) about the dangers of artificial sweeteners. I was pointing out that having a grape juice served up with a bunch of added sugar may not be that much better for you.

We could have a discussion about which is worse for you ... an abundance of artificial sweetener or an abundance of sugar ... but I'm not really interested in turning that into a debate. Both have some nasty effects on your body.

And since when does grape juice NEED to have sugar added?

I'm not interested in that debate either Ben. All things in moderation. I haven't drunk a lot of grape juce, except Verjuice.

Grapes =summer in my books, as well as apricots, nectarines and other stone fruits.

If one doesn't think grape juice tastes like grapes, one should try concord grapes. Haven't had them myself, but apparently grape juice is made to emulate concord grapes.
I like the normal grapes better than grape juice, though.

The thing I REALLY look forward to in the summer is Ontario peaches. They are SOOO good, since they're left on the tree longer than American ones (they have a shorter distance to travel), and so they're juicy and sweet and just generally om-nom-nom-nom.

P.S. Speaking of om-nom-nom-nom, my male is making me wait 10 minutes to eat the rabbit stew after telling me to sample it >.<.

WAIT! So dose that mean that splenda is bad to I use that stuff for my tea and coffee, Oh god! And my diabetic family uses that to!

I'm an addict to, I love to put lemon juice in mine and I do this everyday.

There's no authoritative studies showing any harmful effects from Splenda yet, which is why I use it to make my muffins and the occasional pitcher of kool-aid. But, as was wisely pointed out previously, the best policy is moderation.

Onyx - just like Ben said. Don't throw it out yet.

I personally don't use it because my body doesn't like it. I tried to do Jenny Craig once, man that was a terrible day! Let's just say that Edward Scissorhands decided to visit my stomach.

I try to drink black tea with cold water in it. I don't know why but the cold water sweetens the tea a bit - but then if I want a sweet cup of tea, I'll just put in a teaspoon of sugar and milk and drink it, rather than mess around with substitutes.

Of course it's always decafe because caffiene makes me talkative (like weed) It's not a good look, because I don't stop talking

*looks around nervously, aw crap I had caffiene this morning*

Ha! (towards the Jenny joke) don't try that t.v stuff all you have to do to lose weight is low carbs and no sugar (that's why I use splenda, with that diet I lost ten pounds in two weeks ). I do the same stuff with my tea, I put in splenda then leave the tea bag in and put it in the frezzer, it makes it stronger and sweeter.
Really, I wish caffiene had the same affect. Some coffee makers have the amount of cups printed on the glass and I don't pay attention to that so I end up drinking four cups of it.

My favourite tea is Lapsang Souchong. It tastes like campfire. Oh Boy, does it ever wake the drinker up in the morning....
It also provides a gentle caffeine wake without the jitters. Wakes one up without tweaking one out.
Edit: It can also kick one in the teeth if one doesn't expect the strength of the flavour, and it can also make ones coworkers think the building is burning down.

I need to do the opposite of what half the diets say... I probably eat more high-fat foods than many, such as Alfredo sauce made with butter and the highest-fat cream I can find (SOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOD), and any of the meat that myself of my Male makes has none of the fat cut off, and as little as possible of it drained off (tend to reuse it for other parts of the meal, especially if it's bacon fat), and I still only weigh 118, and my Male about 10 pounds more than that. I think part of my feeling I'm too skinny is that I look at 19th century/earlier paintings more than I do at modern images of idealised beauty.
I do walk to and from the bus stop (which is about 15 minutes of reasonable walking, 10 of vigourous walking) every day I go to work, and sometimes even on my days off to run errands and such. I also have either huge ammounts of peanutbutter (about 3x what most would put on their sandwich) or a shawarma at work for lunch.
I would like to gain weight in a healthy way...

Gym and protein for me. I've never been very good with doing what I'm told, so I just do my own thing with diets - more healthy eating.

Ben's Microwave muffins are: YUMMY!!

Made it with almond meal instead of flax.
