By the way, I don't know if anyone noticed, but in that bit of "What the people in the street think" (it's in "Goth-the facts"), the names of the people interviewed are related to Goth culture (films and books) and Harry Potter.

That looks pretty cool. I felt like I had flashbacks of those glow-in-the-dark necklaces for a second.

Not permitting or otherwise restricting satire is an indication of paranoia.

I just think they should make it clearer that it's a satire... How many people in this thread took it for real and got heated up? A big part of it does look real. (I have actually been asked if we really feed on blood. For real.)

Or maybe I am paranoid... I felt a little sensitive when I wrote that -_-U

I understand your sensitivity, but sometimes, the best way to deal with stereotypes is to just laugh. It may not bring people a step closer to tolerance, but it does take the teeth out of them.

Touché, my dear. I don't think people like Lady_Lacrimosa_Umbrae have ever heard of Jonathan Swift so it means nothing to them, but I love it.

On the subject at hand, it makes me laugh quite a bit, as it is one of the better gothic parodies.

If you think that's bad, google Goths for Bush. That's probably the worst one I've seen in a while, although I don't know if it exists anymore.

Well, I doubt it'll do anything but I wrote a very long and actually rather friendly and informational e-mail to the Reverend and his friends at godhatesgoths.com, pointing out just a few problems I noticed. I also corrected their grammar and spelling once or twice. Heh. I figure if they want people to believe them, they should at least try and look professional.

Hate to disappoint you, but if you didn't already know it's a bit of a hoax site that just takes advantage of our stereotypical, and misunderstood average goth.

I don't care, hah, it made me feel better to at least say something. And like I said, no matter what their purpose, if they want to succeed they should fix their grammatical errors so they look a little more competent.
