Hello All

Good day my fellow darkness driven friends.

My chosen incarnation at the moment is Breathless Horror, but if you are at all interested, my birth name is Harry.

I am 15 years old, and live in the frigid northland that is Canada. I am relatively new to the gothic scene, but I am already totally in love with it.

I enjoy reading (Stephen King is my god), and listening to music. My favorite bands are probably Job For A Cowboy, Throes of Dawn, and Shade Empire, but it is really impossible to pick from all the amazing artists.

Um...yeah, I'm glad to be hear and hope you ladies and gentlemen allow me to keep my head attached to my shoulders while I hone my manners and, hopefully, become a better goth

- Harry

Welcome!
Gothic.Net likes it when you answer these questions. So, yeah...it's a rule...

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)

2. Where are you from?

3. Who is your favorite author?

4. What are your favorite films?

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?

6. At your funeral?

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?

8. What kind of casket would you want?

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?

11. What's your favorite band?

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?

13. Why did you join?

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?

okay...here we go

1) my hobbies are predominantly reading and listening to music. I am unemployed, at least until i find somewhere that will hire a 15-year old with a purple mohawk.

2) I'm from Ottawa, the coldest capital in the world. Also happens to be the capital of Canada

3) For my fav. author, I'd have to say Stephen King hands down.

4) Umm...favorite films. That's a hard one. I'd have to say any of the Monty Python films or the Rocky Horror Picture Show

5) I think I would like to have Heart of Gold, by Neil Young, played at my wedding. I know it's not very gothic, but I find his music soothing.

6) I want Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust" played at my funeral...I think it would be outragously funny.

7) If I have to ride the handsome straight to hell, I want to go with plenty of company, so I'd say I want to die in combat

8) I think a mahogany casket would be very tasteful

9) I think my favorite outfit is my black chain pants with red stitching. I plan to add more chains as they are a little sparse. Throw in a black t-shirt with a witty or cutting message, and some spiked bracelets and I'm set.

10) I can't really remember being a little kid, even though it isn't to far away. I think I miss the trust people give little kids. Noone recoils from a 5-year old when it gets lost and needs directions.

11) My favorite bands are Job For A Cowboy, Disturbed, Throes of Dawn, and Shade Empire.

12) I'm currently working my way through grade 10, and I don't know what my major will be. Maybe one of the sciences.

13) I joined mostly to talk to people who won't judge me on my appearance, and to gwt inspiration for DIY projects, so I can improve my wardrobe.

14) I'm male.

I like you, but I think your fashion sense needs some education.

The hawk can stay, though.

Glad to know I made a decent impression. As i said, I'm incredibly new to the gothic scene, and am therefore always open to suggestions. One of the main reasons i joined was to get inspiration. I'm open to try out pretty much anything that sounds like it will look and feel good.

When you desribed your pants, they sounded like tripp pants. Ew.
Skinny pants are the way to go!
Remember, you lot [I'm not a goth] came from the punks, not the ravers.

And those shirts with "witty" sayings are dumb... I'd recommend button-down shirts and, uh, blank or band t-shirts. Maybe tactical shirts.

I love tactical shirts.

Of course, goth is all about individuality, so ignore anything I say if you want.

Yeah, you're an actual baby bat. Not some mallgoth who seems to think they're "just getting into the culture." It's refreshing.

I like bats. lol. Not really knowing what that means, I think I'm going to take that as a compliment. And yes, it shames me to admit that they are indeed Tripp pants. They're basically my gateway, right now I'm trying to find somewhere that sells some decent black jeans for me to customize. I'm perfectly willing to check out the skinny pants, but as I am not exactly the thinnest child in the world, I wonder about how that would look. At the very least it would be good for a few laughs. Does tactical shirt mean camouflage? or is it more of a combat tunic type thing?

Tactical shirts range from color and pattern, but generally, they're short or long sleeved button-up shirts, with epaulets and a pocket on both breasts.

And remember, you're not confined to just black :P

A baby bat is someone just getting into the culture.

Welcome! You sound nice and it's quite encouraging to have another Canadian on this site. I love the sound of the purple mohawk.

Welcome to the site, you sound like someone I could get along with IRL, even though you are a year older than me and two grades ahead.

What you should do with your tripps, dude...Is thighten the leggings on them to make them more jean like, instead of so baggy....

Like, almost girl pants.

Shit, if you don't do it, I will.

Actually, I own 1 pair of Illigs.

I never wear them, though. I think I may tighten them, too. I never thought about that.

Damned repost time. Anyways, upon reinspection, I have decided that I may just harvest them of their materials and put the shit on another pair of pants.

I like my Trash pants, they're tight. They tuck really nice into my underground stompers. My wife likes the way they make my butt look.

The only Tripp item I own is my psycho jacket that I bought years ago before I found out how easy Tripp stuff falls apart.

Welcome Breathless.

Ooh, another babybat beginning his decent into the darkness. How exciting. Welcome to Gnet, Breathless Horror. I agree the Tripp pants must go as soon as possible, but I suppose they make an appropriate 'gateway' of sorts. You'll develop your own style eventually, but just remember there is no such thing as a dress code of any type in this subculture... though some things are applauded =p

Yay fellow canadian!!! you wouldn't happen to know a decent place to shop for the extreme styles would you? The only place near me is Trivium in the Rideau center...and I dont have $50 to spend on a spiked collar. Do you know anywhere in the general Ottawa/Hull/Montréal area that doesn't want my right arm for a piece of clothing?

And with regards to my hair, it's not really long enough to bother putting up a pic of it. I only recently started to grow it from almost bald, so it's only about 3" long. If you really want, I'll post a pic as soon as my camera gets fixed.

Just buy normal clothing and alter it.

A thrift shop is best, because if you fuck it up, you only lost 10 bucks at most.

I made a DIY megathread, so ask about stuff there.

Sounds like good enough advice, especially since i just checked out my bank account and was extremely depressed to find my total assets are roughly 25 dollars and a little pocket lint :P So I'm gonna agree with the thrift shop idea. Also, I have the feeling that the rate of fuck-upery will be quite high to begin with, and destroying a pair of $50 pants or something could really ruin my day.
