My cat almost rips it's eye out :[

This is ridiculous.
I left my new glasses on the desk, and went to get some food in the kitchen since I was extremely tired because of all this tap dancing thing.
When I came back my poor kitten was bleeding.
Seemingly, she was playing with the glasses and accidentaly put one of the sticks in her eye. I felt so sad, it must have hurt somuch!!

She seems to be fine now but the eye doesn't look good.
I really hope she gets better...

Ouchhhh, the poor thing. Have you considered taking her to the vet to get her eye checked out?

Aww, has she been rubbing her eye a lot? Maybe that's why.

As Turquoise said, be very careful with her that she doesn't rub her eye. My dog had something similar happen to her, and that was the reason she wasn't healing.

The thing about eye injuries and this also happens with people, is that once REM takes place, the eyelid will agitate the wound. It's a bitch. The only way I could even remotely get it to start healing was to wear this big fat contact lens that gave me a headache when I slept cause it was too heavy.

Is it possible to put one of those paper cone things around her head? Like dogs wear after ear surgery? That might protect her eye.

Poor kitty

I think I've seen the paper cone thing done to cats. But yeah, don't let her rub her eye.

I hope she gets better.

That's harsh. How long did it take to heal? I wonder if they have the same thing for animals.

If it doesn't seem to be getting better, just watch her for a few days then take her back to to vet. Certainly if it looks worse.

Poor little thing

Like Humane said, a buster collar ( looks like a lampshade and goes round the neck ) will stop her from rubbing or pawing at it. For the most part I don't think cats tend to paw at their eye injuries, of the few cats I have known to have injured their eyes none of them did anyway. I know dogs will paw at wounds though.

Perhaps if she is showing a bit of discomfort, you could get some cool water ( not cold ) and a cotton pad or soft cloth, and VERY gently bathe her eye area if she will allow it. Don't press or touch her eyeball AT ALL , but just very very gently wipe around the area if it looks weepy and sore.

I'm surprised her veterinarian didn't tell her how to ease the cats healing process.

Things are better today.
Her eye is still red but it doesn't look as bad as yesterday.
I bought some eye drops (for humans) and it helped a lot. She sometimes rubed it but didn't do it much, I think it was because it was painful when she did. I thought about the paper cone too, but I thought it would be better to put one of those white things they use in hospitals...damn I don't know how to say it in English and the translator doesn't find the word!! :/. Anyway, it's called "Venda" in Spanish, but I'm not sure if it will hurt. Thanks for worring, guys.

OH, I got it, I was meaning a bandage.

And TurquoiseXx, I forgot to say yesterday that the vet gave me this weird ointment, but it wasn't working very well.

Well, depending on the damage, I'm not sure how long it would take to heal. It look my eye about a week and a half to heal up to the point of only really being irritated.

Good news guys.
Bianca (Yes, that´s her name) is totally fine now. I´m so happy. Her eye looks normal and she seems to be happy, too.... ^_^
