My school doesn't really have a goth group in it. Goths at my school? There's me, a Mansonite girl, and her boyfriend who has made some amusing attempts at dressing gothic since they started dating. So there's really no way the school authorities could have banned gothic-type fashion - because it would seem like a personal attack on a few kids instead of a large-scale dress code.

Though I was the only person that might be considered Gothic at my former school there were many Goth intolerant rules... such as nothing that draws atttention to yourself such as dyed hair, spikes, chokers...

Yeah, my school hasn't done anything yet really. But then again there is only 2 kids who wear trench coats (including myself), one kid who has a mohawk that's colored in wild colors, 2 kids who wear chain pants (including myself) and there isn't really all that many other kids who dress differently. All I have heard of is that we might not be able to wear chain pants. But I'll get that decision revoked by any means necessary. Mostly the dresscode is based on the mainstream kids and their tight mini skirts and baggy jeans that show half their asses. But otherwise I hope my school stays a little on the easy side with the different look in dressing and stuff.

No there all over my school. Even if others cared that much they wouldn't be able to stop it since there are too many and nobodys going to comply anyway.

I'm in Year 13, my last year of high school, and we are allowed to wear what we want, everyone else wears uniform.
I haven't had any crap about my labret yet, but they might be letting me away with it because I'm a senior. Apparently we're not allowed to wear low cut tops, but I do all the time and nobody has had any concerns with that.
Apparently we have a no makeup rule but I've been wearing eyeliner for 4 out of five years at the school, and had no problems.
They only crack down on incorrect uniform, and despite the fact that I often wore a non regulation jacket to school (I simply refused to wear my jersey because it provided no warmth what-so-ever) and I've only had one detention.
I've worn my big stompy boots on free-dress days, and I wear them this year still.
I've actually been labelled a slut on the basis of how I dress, by some silly turds, but that makes no sense to me. I haven't worn any short skirts, or anything revealing. :S I just don't care..
Theres no goths at my school, the only other goth I know goes to the Catholic school down the road and they have uniform for all years.

The teachers all like me because I'm polite and my mother used to work there, and our year level dean is my mums best friend :P SO i think I might get a bit more leniance bacause they know I'm a good girl
And everyone in my year generally gets on fine (except for one guy who hates me for no reason but that will be left to the Whining forum) and I only get the funny teasing comments that everyone gets at some point in the day.
I generally get compliments about what I wear.

My school doesn't give a rat's ass what you wear as long as they can't see your tits or something worse. >.< Forgot spikes and chains but they rarely fight about chains. They were finally banned last year after some racist kids beat the shit out of some black kids with spiked braclets. *how do you spell "braclets"?*

I had this really great experience today... for the first time in my entire school time I dared showing up at school in clothes that I felt are totally "me"; platform boots, ripped fishnets, knee- long black lace skirt, corset, a red chinese style jacket and a spiked choker - and my teachers all said stuff in the lines of "Wow, I really admire you for daring to wear whatever you want. That's really pretty, you know." That was so great... made my day
Your parents rule. My parents are against anything "goth" and refuse to by me expensive clothing that they consider goth. I admire ****** and cyber goth the most.

I am a Japanese style Loli lover... EGL. And Mana-sama... And Kyo... and Dir en grey in general... Ok I will stop my, obsessiveness...

But my school tries to target the biggest of us... like me and my friends, and make up things.... I almost got child services called on me... They thought I was cutting (Which I don't do anymore... long story but I actually did for a long while) but the truth was, at the time, I had given my kitty a bath for fleas... and of course cats hate water... it was brutal. So I narrowly avoided that... and no long black coats.... I can hurt someone with one...

I am taking a Comparitive Religion class this year, that way I can critisize Christianity (which I hate... from my young childhood and seeing the warpedness of it around here) with out being told I would need to study it first...

Idea... They say no long black coats specifically... So if I get a white coat and dye it bubble gum pink, I can wear it? Might be a good experiment.

The teachers like me because I am nice to them. I am really a nice person... I am just different. There are probably six people in my school that could be called "Goth."
None of them are my friends >< I like the outsiders.... and one girl who is friends with the preps... but isn't like them, but she is really nice to me... I'll talk to anyone who is respectful to me as I am to them. Ok I need to stop gabbering.

If you are talking to me, they really aren't... I got in trouble for being bisexual... they called my parents adn grandparents... ruind my life for a good chunk of time... But makeup.... clothes... most is ok... I always have a good argument "the cheer leaders wear make up" because by saying that I say that the principal, and assistant principal, he coaches womens volleyball and cheerleading, are favoring them. I have assorted argumetns for different situations... I get my way when it coems to most things, I am good at arguing... but really my school is a shit hole for anyone not a straight, chritian, athlete/cheerleader/ditzy prep... except the one girl... I love her... She is my best friend, Even though she has a ton of friends...

I cannot believe that you got in trouble because of your sexuality! That is ridiculous. Who do they think they are?

My school is so boring in that we have to wear uniforms. we're allowed to wear eyeliner but until I enter the 6th form I have to keep it pretty simple. This means no 'unnatural' colours for hair, Which is slightly annoying.

Well.... if it just says no unatural colours in your hair say that purple/green/red/ whatever is natural...... folowers are purple, and red... as are birds.... my school people fall for that every time..... And yeah my school is lame on sexuality.

No, just that they think its a "satanic ritualistic" thing. Exact words.

I just wear all black Chuck Taylors now to to school, and boots anywhere else.

Don't give goths a bad name by calling yourself one.
Goths don't cut themselves, goths don't want to die, goths are not little teens that hate their lives.

Yes I doubt they'll allow it but oh well, only one year until I can do what I like with my hair.

future fashion is slowly loosening up...

If it can be said there is a silver lining to the masses flocking to hot crock topic, it is that 'goth' (whatever the superficial hell they think that is) will become more mainstream, then it won't matter *what* anybody looks like, or how they dress, what they pierce and with what.

These real life horror stories of detention and assaults resulting from your appearances will become part of the past. This is not a freakin' shill plug for hot crock, but merely an observation of trends over time.

I think too much. Or not enough.

I used to dress like some sort of wigger a while (have NO idea what I was thinking...)
aanyway...so now I'm slowly changing my look to something different...
people at my school are naive (sp?) they go stricktly by labels.

"Lyke...dude, you didn't listen to rock last year."
actually I did...it just didn't exactly look .like I did.

I only have a couple of shirts from Hot Topic, and some of those pants with the straps on them (i like them)

the point is, I like what I like...and I'm going to meet about 20020983572952983579 people with different opinions than me, and I don't give a shit what they think about what I wear.

People need to worry about what THEY wear, not other people.
