If you want to zone out on TV, try "How it's made" on Discovery. It makes me wish I was a pothead so I'd have a better reason to be immobilized.
House trumps CSI these days, I think. But If it's not Mythbusters or Survivorman, I just can't be bothered.

Myth busters is one of the few shows I'll go out of my way to make sure I watch. Have you seen the movie, Darwin Awards? The two main men from Myth Busters were put into the movie about a Myth they busted involving a car, a rocket, and some skid marks veering off the side of the road. 
Besides that, the only thing worth watching on TVNZ is Family guy and Pulp Sport.
