A guy in my Modern Philosophy started saying how evolution is "just a theory," "just an ideology," all the class laughed, he couldn't defend his point, felt like the underdog, while the teacher started explaining him the definition of 'theory' and 'ideology.' It makes me feel sad that even in philosophy people don't understand basic logic and semantics.

Then I knew the class was going to blow because he would keep repeating himself over and over as if repetition made him right, Xjin style. So I posted the above paragraph on facebook and the ones who had laptops in the class, we just started making fun of him through facebook.

There is just no reasoning with people like that. I sadly know quite a few people with the same lack of basic logic as the guy in your philosophy class.

I took a logic class. It didn't change a damn thing. I still have no critical thinking skills or sense of logic.

Just 'cause someone's in the class doesn't mean they know what they're talking about. Furthermore, aren't you supposed to take classes to learn things? I thought that was how it went. If you already know everything about the subject, why bother taking it?

Cut the dummy some slack.

It's an advanced class. He couldn't have gotten in without any prior philosophy classes. Hell, you took a logic class and you say it didn't change you. This fucker MUST have taken Intro and Logic as minimum to be in this class and he still does not know better.
