Hitler and Jews

I watched the movie Downfall. An excellent movie about the last few days in Berlin about WWII. Quincidentally, I had got my hands on some other movie by the name of Schindler's List, another movie that made me teary-eyed.

One of my hobbies is the history of WWII.

I had read some of Adolf Hitler's speeches and watched Triumph of the Will.
I had read about the huge amount of harm done by Hitler. But I failed to come up with any solid reasons why Jewish people were considered bad.

Sure, I have heard modern stereotype jokes these days, but in all the Jewish friends I have had, never have I seen anything that backed up any of what the Neo-Nazi type people say or the WWII Nazi Germany propaganda.

I do not understand. Why were these innocent people sent to death camps during WWII!?

I don’t buy the fact that Hitler was crazy or evil as being the ONLY reason these innocent people were systematically wiped off the face Earth. There had to be a reason and I don’t see it.

I don't understand and I have the guts to ask awkward questions.

You also have the guts to post a plethora of useless threads. There was a large amount of antisemitism in Germany at the time. Shit there's been a lot of antisemitism for a long while. Hitler knew that and used that.

It's simple.

Jews are extremely easy to blame your countries problems on.

Why does the Weimar Republic not have enough funds? Jews.
Why does the Deustche Mark have no value? Jews.
Why is there so much moral corruption in the country? Jews.
Why does X problem exist? Jews.

Antisemitism was extremely widespread in Europe, not just in Germany. France, Britain, pretty much any country you could think of had at least some portion of antisemitism.

There are a couple reasons for it:
Christians blamed Jews for the death of Jesus.
During the Middle Ages, Jews were massacred for not being Christian.
Jews were blamed for poisoning wells during the Black Death.

So, when you know your population already has a bias against one group of people, and you need a scapegoat to convince people that they should follow you, who are you going to blame for all of the problems?

Remember, the Jews weren't the only ones hit. Hitler had a concept of "Untermenschen", or "Underpeople". Basically, he grouped a lot of people (Gays, Blacks, Jews) in to "inferior" races, and then told the German people that they were the master race. It's pretty easy to control people when you're telling them they're superior.

These aren't hard questions. Take a fucking History 101 class and you'll know why.

How about a German view?
We have to take into account ww1 in which the Germans largely took the blame for which could be blamed on all of the Major countries all being stupid. Germans saw the Jews ( stereotype warning) get rich while alot of the ww1 veterans were left to beg on the streets.
This also leads on to the so called higher treason rate of the Jews during ww1 and the idea of some people (Nazi party was far more popular among rural area's) that WW1 was betrayed/ back stabbed by their politicians, the Jews and the dirty commies.
It was a matter of pride and desperation.
You also have to note that the Nazi party only got around 44 percent in the election and that it was seen as a very radical party even at the time.
Alot of other things as well but as people said its easy to play the blame game.
One of my passions happens to be the history Germany 1930-1945 and also the politics of the Nazi party.

Oh my answer is more based around why Germans would support the Nazis maybe I should make a separate one later on the party's ideology when I have the time and brain power and sources to give a good answer. (My 1st one is just me getting things from the top of my head so don't be afraid to correct me)

So am I. I think a lot of their (Nazi's) reasoning, like so much other prejudice, was rooted in ignorance. People are brought up to believe certain things and, unfortunately, many of them don't make the effort to find out if those beliefs are justified.
