I liked it pretty much too. Though of course that maybe isn't how the battle actually happen, but nobody expects accuracy from Greek myths do they?. By the way... was I the only one who thought that the whole thing was kind of gay? Specially this Persian King (he's the best character ever LOL)

I specially liked the images, I mean the lightning and the colour used and so. It was pure spectacle. Brilliant movie ^_^

300 was a fun movie. I enjoyed how they sped up the 'kill' in the fight scene then slowed it right down in between strikes unlike most other movies where they slow down the 'kill'. The Persian king had the most beautifully made up eyes, so otherworldy! And his voice! Did it remind anyone else of Stargate SG-1? The most emotionally moving part of the movie was when the Spartans drove the Elephants off the cliff

I almost cried. The bad dialogue made me laugh at the most inappropriate times. eg:

King Leo: Soldier what is your occupation?
Soldier 1: I'm a potter, sir.
King Leo: And you Soldier?
Soldier 2: A sculptor.
King Leo: What about you?
Soldier 3: A blacksmith.
King Leo: Spartans! What is you occupation?
Spartans: ARROOOOOOUUUUU!!!!!

Yes, Ladies and gentlemen! That's right! History got it all wrong - the Spartans were not soldiers. No they were much, much scarier! Professional howlers. XDXD

It was an aweosme movie, but I did not like the "porn" in it. Too many scenes with naked women and that type of things, but the rest of the movie more than maked up for that fault.

It was a very good movie, it was actually a film that I enjoyed. I liked the battles the most.

It was a cool movie about this great ancestral battle of ours and here in Greece it was very well accepted by the majority. I personally liked it very much, especially the battle speeches of Leonidas. I didn't like the fact though that the hoplites were fighting more like ninjas and samurai and pretty much as individuals than a traditional greek phalanx, which promotes team work... it made it look so funny! Otherwise, a great movie, one to be remembered!

Oooooh, that. People muttering about how it was West vs. East propaganda. Showing the Spartans as good, handsome, strong men and having the Persians as a bunch of freaks.

Eeeh. I can see where the argument comes from, but it's about Spartans and Persians as far as I am concerned. I thought Xerxes and his mob were rather kewl actually.

As of it being homoerotic... hardly I would say. At least I didn't notice anyone being sexually interested in another person of the same gender.

Racist...hmmm I wouldn't go that far. It is a fight between nations really, not races. And if you have the West vs East thing in your mind, know that todays Middle-East is totally different in all aspects, and doesn't have anything to do with ancient Persia.

Now if there are elements of propaganda referring to todays events, that is a very different issue. Despite the producers denying it, I believe the movie does project some subliminal messages about western superiority, even if it was not intended...

I saw The 300 while staying at my sister's; one of her friends got his hands on the DVD early. Lets just say that I had to watch it twice just to make sure that I saw every inane detail.

I wasn't as amazed as I thought I would me. It was visually stunning, but I got bored with the excessive (if not well-choreographed) fighting and found myself wishing the plot had a little more substance or the characters were better developed. I guess I was expecting rich, character-driven storytelling more in the vein of Sin City and got headchopping instead. I probably would have liked it if my expectations hadn't been so lofty.

Anyway, I actually don't like that the creators of Sin City made this movie.
I feel this movie shouldn't be like Sin City so much as Alexander.
Then again, I haven't seen it, so I'll see if I think the same after going to the movies.
