I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but what's so great about Princess Diana?
My thoughts of her can be summed up in a comic I once saw:

Woman - I saw a documentary yesterday. It makes me feel so bad that there's so many poor people, I want to start doing something about it.
Friend - Oh, like Mother Theresa?
Woman - More like Princess Di. I still want to have my nice stuff.

My inspirations are: Buenaventura Durruti, Nestor Makhno, Bakunin, Kropotkin, and the guys from the Haymarket Affair. I know it's a little too predictable, so I'll also throw in a non-anarchist: Albert Camus.

She did a lot of charity work, worked for AIDS awareness, and was a supporter of the international campaign to ban land mines. She wasa wife and mother, even if she was a Princess. Some people say that celebrities do charity for public attention, but honestly, I think it doesn't matter because if it gets the message out there, that's the important thing, not to mention she had great influence over the people. It's so sad that so many people are forgetting her...

But she only did that because she could afford it.
My mother is a wife and a mother. She takes care of the house and still spends more time than a regular person at a 40-hour job volunteering for raising breast cancer awareness and helping people with low incomes. That at the expense of a potential secondary source of income to us. She's much mroe awesome than Princess Di.

I don't really think about role models a whole lot, but as to famous people I do respect.... the first that comes to mind is Thich Nhat Hanh, a monk from Vietnam, his school declared neutrality during the Vietnam and helped rebuild villages and tend to the wounded soldiers of both sides, even though both sides were very suspicous of him and his students, and they were often threatened, shot at and killed. While out of the country the Vietnamese government forbade him from going back, he lived in exile ever since in Plum Village in France, where he continues to this day to preach socially engaged Buddhism, participated in religious forums and wrote books on building bridges between religions, hosted retreats to build peace between Palestinians and Israelis, and hosted peace walks in LA that attracted thousands. I don't agree with some of his teachings, and he comes off as a little naive sometimes I think, but his faith in the goodness of people and his dedication to help those in need even when his life is in danger demands nothing less than respect.

I also have a lot of respect for Gandhi, I'm reading his autobiography and so far I'm really surprised by his honesty, he was married when he was thirteen years old, and treated his wife quite badly during his youth, and didn't have much interest at all in religion until he went to England to study law. To know that even someone who comes from that kind of background can change themselves completely and make a huge difference in the world is very inspiring. But I don't wanna say too much about him since I'm only half way through and he could say something incredibly offensive later on in the book.

I don't have a role model, but consider my Mom a hero. She's been through a lot and has always busted her ass for her kids.

I never really had role models outside of my family (I tended to make role models up in my stories), but I have so much respect for my dad and my grandmother. Both people have done so much for me and I can't begin to repay them, save for trying to succeed. Both of them have this wealth of knowledge and experience and it was amazing to grow up learning from both of them.

My dad is probably my main role model, he is so patient and helpful, and doesn't get angry or be unreasonable. I know I can't be easy to live with, but he puts up with me anyway and listens to me rant at him about stuff, even though he is not that interested.
Um...I don't think there's anyone else, maybe Tish and Snooky.

My inspiration was this guy called Steppenwolf that once was on my mirror , one cold October morning , 2005 .
My style is a mix between the clothes I like most and the clothes that are clean enough , or ready to serve at my bedroom's floor ...

My inspiration is a character from a book, sad isn't it? Tyler Durden.

My role model is Stanley Kubrick, the best director that ever lived.

My style is... anything I choose to wear that day.

Rare to hear that I've read excerpts of his books, his books themselves are a little hard to find, which is a shame, I really like his style, like Seung Sahn's. Doesn't get caught up in trying to polish Buddhism to appeal to a Western audience.

Inpsiration: Gerard Way & Tim Burton. Generally, people who have a lot of creativity & imagination with a splash of gloom.
Stylistic inspiration: recently it's a band called Tragic Black. Art goths.

Inspiration, mostly Melora Creager of Rasputina.
Or anything.
A word, phrase, picture, drunk rant.
Anything, everything can inspire.
