Um ... well, I kinda figured for about the same money I'd go to the bigger one, especially since I have friends that work there. Plus, I've never heard of the other one ... and I'm good for about one of these things a year.

Tim's an Aussie. I saw him interviewed on TV - he is classically trained, but couldn't find work, so n desperation he did a one night act at a comedy club as the semi-crazy guy you see in front of you. i think he went to Edinburough Festival and the rest is history. (I like to regurgitate useless facts at random times)

SJ Congrats on getting into university.

I tried out a couple of my shower presents. This bunt pan pops out a seriously awesome cake that is anything but dated and boring (which is really weird since it is a retro design but whatevs it clearly ain't my grandmother's bunt cake), and my steam mop made me happy by actually cutting through the grime all over the floor although I was kind of grossed out seeing how bad it really was.

Thank goodness I've been around dogs my entire life, and am a pretty good judge of character.

I drew skulls on my managers high visibility vest ( he asked me to ) the boss noticed and Neil is not allowed to wear his vest that I spent over an hour customising except on "special occasions" whenever they may be O.o.

HOWEVER, My awesome skull creating skills didn't go unnoticed, and the boss asked me to test out some Strathmore artists sketchbooks. I have 4 sketchbooks and the total value comes to nearly £30 !!

One of them is a watercolour book so I got myself some cheap watercolours to test on it. I can't paint to save my life, despite having been to college and studied art and design ( which included fine art ) But still, I can have a bash.

And my Giant stainless steel tweezers ( about 10 inches long ) have arrived! I can now plant Hemanthus in my tanks properly

My good mood about school continues, I only have to pay 37 dollars this month and for September, and when I go to work in an hour I get to tell my boss to take this job and shove it (not really, I'm going to be really nice about it and offer to work another week or two since they're understaffed, that'll give them time to find a replacement). I'm so excited about edumacation I'm just buzzing around the house too happy to settle on one thing to do. I think I'm scaring my roommate.

Watching the Little League all-star team from Pearland, TX as they're playing against a team from Plymouth, MN in a Little League World Series game on www.espn3.com today. They're leading 8-0 in the 3rd inning. Their pitcher is throwing fastballs clocked at up to 91 mph, and last inning he struck out the side.

These kids just might have a chance.

*edit* They pulled that pitcher with a no-hitter going after 33 pitches ... apparently by doing that they can play him again on 1 days rest according to the rules. So there's a new pitcher in.

I baked a lemon flavored cake for my SO's birthday. It cooled and I just got done putting lemon flavored frosting on it. I'm very pleased with the way it turned out, and I know she will be too.

*edit* I'm more of a red velvet or double chocolate kind of guy, but she likes her sweets to not be too sweet, so this is just her speed.

Recently I lost my hamster to lymphoma and some kind of mites. We had to put him down so he wouldn't suffer anymore. We took him to the vet a few times before that.

Today, I found some old pictures of him on my camera. At the same time I noticed a letter from the vet that arrived today. Inside was a sympathy card written by the entire staff, with each person leaving a little heartfelt note.

It tugged the heart strings for sure, but it still made me happy.

I miss the little guy, though.

I'm v. happy. Mr Bat and baby bat are out at the grandbats house and I've got the house to myself.

I just had a long smooch session with my cat (who drools when he's happy) and now I'm putting myself down for an afternoon nap.

And I don't have to worry about dinner because Mr Bat is organising that (although it could have been a bad decision on my behalf to give him free reign on dinner).

Ah bliss!

Mother was telling me about a very tame little young robin down our alotment, who will come right up to you if you mess around in the bean plants and pick some beans.

Well I had a go today and he came out! He was practically on my toe! I think he's after any little spiders that get knocked off the bean plants as we pick. We've got some mealworms left over in the fridge from feeding the blackbirds, so we can take those down to feed him when we next go ^^ If he'll come so close to our feet he should most likely feed from our hands.

The downside is that I appear to be a little allergic to bean leaves. I've got a rash all over my arms from brushing through between the canes.
