New Elder Goth

Hi,

Teresa here. Physics geek. Was in the Harvard Square Goth scene circa 1999 whilst attending MIT.

Was dressing in the style of Siouxsie Sioux back in 1987 (didn't call it Goth then)

Reconnected with the Scene in Houston about 2 years ago.

Enjoying being back. Goth community is like family to me.

Love,
Teresa

The Harvard scene was always interesting (I did not attend Harvard but was there for business reasons). You would find guys in cafes talking about medicine or science, and then see the same guys that night in a Manga comic book store. The fertile ground for writers of the Big Bang Theory.

I saw Siouxsie in Feb. 2008 at the House of Blues in Anaheim, wow what a performer! My age and yet she rocked that skin tight gold sequined outfit like a teenager.

Welcome.

Oops! I guess I better go ahead and answer these!

Quote:
1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
I am a Nuclear Physicist (No, really) it's not as glamorous as it sounds. I crunch numbers most of the time. I am working from home for a Oil/Gas startup company designing nuclear well logging tools.

For fun I enjoy freediving and scuba, along with occasional Underwater Modeling (I was swimming thru coral tunnels sans diving gear in the Tortugas 'bout the same time that little girl from Ev@n3$c3nc3 was playing in a swimming pool with her rubber jellyfish). I also LOVE to swing dance, Lindy, Balboa, ballroom. If it can be led i can follow it.

I also play bass for a Metal/industrial band called Opulent

2. Where are you from?
Kentucky, but call Houston, TX home

I love Larry Niven too! Neutron Star was his seminal anthology, and I still have my copy I got in 1969 when I was in junior high. I always thought it was cool that his short story The Soft Weapon was made into a Star Trek: The Animated Series episode, Kzinti and all! Except they replaced the puppeteer with Spock. :S
